...well...

Landlord called me up today and basically said I either gotta get the car running or get it gone.

Well, needless to say it ain't gonna get running by the end of the week, so gone its getting.

Gonna have to tow it over to my moms house and let it sit until I can come up with $ for a tranny....:(

That sucks Steve! I'm glad my House is mine. Of course if the neighbors complained about the sport the police could tag it and I'd have to get it gone to. Luckilly I have cool neighbors.

well it looks like I'll be able to keep the car here as long as I don't leave any parts around. So in the meantime I picked everything up and stuck it in the car and the closet and everything's pretty.

So, here's a cool pic:D

you can never make enough, unless you're raking in the cash (literally with a rake) like bill gates lol

Ok so I just got a TON of interior parts from 1bad88tbird today, as you can see.

So, for those of you who have been following this thread, here's whats going to happen.

Well, first of all I'm gonna get busy putting all this stuff in the car.

Then, well, I have decided to put an AOd back in the car.

yeah, yeah, I know. But it will be floor shift, and I don't think it'll be permanent. Right now I just wanna get this  thing running again. I'm looking at about a month till I get the trans and this thing runs again.

Then its gonna be a whole lot of suspension/wheels/tire/brakes/all-things-mechanical-and-not-engine-related regiment. I've got a lot of work to do to get this thing road worthy. Right now it needs to struts SOOO BAD and all 4 tires are shot. It needs an alignment reallyreallyreallyreally bad. And it could really use a lot of brake work. I need get the rear end converted to disc and the front needs an upgrade. I'm thinking a new booster is in order too. Oh yeah, and the alternator is shot so bad to the point that its actually draining my battery even when the car is off. So that needs replacing too.

so, yay. Lots of work ahead. But, I'm really hoping to have it road worthy enough to be able to bring it to dyno day. If not I'll at lest be coming in the bird.

So I got some things done today:D

Got started putting in all that stuff from Jay and looky, now I've got a console! Still needs some stuff, like a lid...and a shifter....and a new switch panel....but for the most part its all in and working.

I started by getting the seat out of the car and cutting that  consolette off with nothing more than a HACKSAW.

and then I got to work putting the console in. Started by test fitting the console and finding the marks for my brackets and making sure all wiring worked properly.

Then I got to work getting the floor ready for the brackets. I COVERED the brackets in spray paint the night before to get rid of all that rust:yuck: I don't know why ford didn't paint them from the factory.

And here it is all screwed down.

Then I attempted to put a new top on the steering column, but I guess I should have specified that I don't have a tilt wheel:rolleyes:

I also installed a super nice set of lighted mirror sunvisors, and got a new socket for the light that lights up the words on headlight switch panel. Then I got to work putting all the new shiny trim pieces in... this is what was left over after the work....

and the console finished product (for now) with the seats back in and everything:D

I also found a use for my stupid old column shift steering column, since I didn't want to put a hole in my new perfect trim piece.

And thats what I've accomplished so far. Hopefully in about a month I'll have a tranny and a new alternator in this thing and have it running. I cant friggen wait.:D

BTW does your car have ANY options?

lol, nope. just power mirrors, and I think the only reason it had that was cause you couldn't get manual mirrors on both sides from the factory, which it needed to pass NY inspection and be road legal.
