I'm really just looking for more of a feel, not a measurement.  For example, how will it be sitting in the seat and driving?  It appears a bit higher, think it'll be wierd to look over?

This might help. Here is a picture comparison from about the same distance and angle. It doesn't look like it's much different height wise.

yeah, that does help.  It looks a bit higher where the dash arches up, but not much, huh?  1-2" maybe?

The angles aren't exactly the same but it appears to be no more than an inch or two different if it is at all.

if you draw a line with your eye tangent to the top of the highest point of the dash and over to the mirror trim plate, they look nearly the same height to me.

So, why the talk in earlier posts about no A/C making the dash install easier?

because you have to trim about 3" off the back of it to make the dash fit flush to the windshield. along with tpuppies the steel supports to clear the a-pillars. it is no way a "bolt-in". if you are thinking about doing the swap, i would do a google search to see what everyone else has done to make it fit.

Oh yeah, I know it's not a bolt in!  That's what makes it fun!  I'm just wondering what tpuppies the dash has to do with the a/c.  I started a thread in the interior forum about an sn95 dash swap.  Would you mind sharing your personal experience over there?

my guess is ductwork prevents AC, with that much trimmed off.

Awesome work. One word of caution, though: do yourself a favor and take a CLOSE look at the spark plug threading in the heads, especially for plug #3. There have been reports that many of those engines don't have enough thread for the plugs and they sometimes spit the plugs out. An ounce of prevention and all that...
