add the filter... yeah thats tall. How much is it sticking out right now? how much taller is it with the filter?

I just had a vision.... tall cowl+ Fox SVO scoop opened up= greatness! just an idea

actually i was thinking of using the center section from the mach 1 hood, and glassing it onto a stock replacement fiberglass hood with the mach scoop. :D

That works even better than I expected.  The body lines match up pretty closely.  It will look great and function well as a bonus.

Are you going to raise up the back of it? I forgot that you had all that stuff. Looks good. totally original. Even if you didnt raise the back up i think it might look ok. Are you going to make a tray for the bottom of the scoop to mount on tha carb? Are you cutting out all of the hood that will be covered by the Mach section?

so many questions!

yes, ill make a bracket for the scoop. yes, ill be cutting a large section out of the hood. and ill have the hood look as close to a original mach as possible. the height of the scoop is going to determine how high the hood is going to be.

Sorry but I think I might be more excited than you to see it finish! I always wanted to make a cowl hood out of a 96-98 (cant remember what year it was) cobra R hood. I like the way it looks like it steps up twice. I guess now that i look at it more you could trim the front to make it a shorter height after leveling the rear too.

Thanks!  Couldn't have done it without your parts (but the pedals were a nightmare, lol), not to mention the all important inspiration!  I had forgotten all about the SN dash swap for the last few years and this thread is actually what got me going.  Gonna start toying with those door panels next.

Anyway, good luck with that hood!  I can't wait to see a shaker on that 'bird.  Gonna be so dope!

another update!

i redid all the brake lines, except the ones that run along the rear axle. those were redone a couple years back. its all 3/16" tubing with a mix of 45* tube nuts and 37* AN fittings. :hick:

one of the pics shows where i had to drill a hole in the strut tower, just so one of the lines could screw onto the MC.

Fake Shaker :shakehead:

Functional Shaker :headbang:

Please do me one favor so that I don't have nightmares.  Put either some hose (fuel line or vacuum) over those lines where they pass through metal, or add some grommets.

Lookin' good.

i spent a good 2 hours getting the length of these hoses cut, so i could get them screwed on. i havent messed with braided hoses in awhile, but ill say this. Jeg's brand hose ends are the EASIEST to work with. i had absolute hell with one XRP fitting.
