Maybe you'll be able to do something with your trade-in, and if they're feeling generous you'll strike a deal.Don't listen to Fila. These cars AREN'T fast. A 16 second 1/4 mile time is beat by about 3/4 of the new cars on the road. That and "they remove the Interceptor before they sell them" :shoothead The 87-91's with a 5.0 were good for the same 155 HP that most other 5.0's of the generation were good for. That translates to vision blurring 17.5 second 1/4 mile times. If you get "lucky" and get a 351 car, you'll get maybe a half second improvement, to 17.0 seconds!Don't buy one because it's fast, buy one because they're a hell of a deal for the money, for a late-model, full size car.Sorry guys, but just like most Thunderbirds and Cougars, if you want a fast Crown Vic, you're going to do what Ford never did, and build it. After I get the thunderchick squared away I want to do somethings to the Vic'. 1fstcat, wana help me with some idea's seeing as you have 2 PI's and seem to know much more then me. Quote Selected

holy cop cars! Reply #20 – July 26, 2006, 09:47:58 AM That's not a bad deal for a clean '96, if it's nice. I bought my daily driver for $1000 (administrative car with carpet, never had a spotlight), and painted it for another $500, added the '98+ brakes and did some other minor repairs.I like the 96's and 97's the most, of all the recent bodies, mostly because of the better gas mileage. The spark plug wires seem to be more reliable, as well. Of course, there's plusses and minusses with all the different years, so most people will feel differently about each year model.Sure, Fila. I'd be happy to consult on such a project. You'll also find a great "Box Body" forum at http://www.crownvic.net. --Ed Quote Selected

They're all long gone now, though, as the newest one would be 10 years old... Quote Selected
