I think that show Camaro would need a lot of UN-refinement before ever hitting the streets. You think that glossy uderhood and spotless engine bay would make it into a $25k production car? Not bloody likely. I can guarantee the interior would be dumbed down quite a bit too, unless this ends up a $50k car...

Baby Bird? That monstrosity was doomed to failure from day one. Ugly is one thing, slow is another, but ugly and slow are just too much. Ford put the car up against Mercedes SLK's, Porsche Boxters, BMW Z3's and Corvette roadsters, and it was vastly inferior to every one of them. The few people that found them appealing bought them right away, then the rest sat on lots, marked down and reduced to clear. I'd wager that somewhere in north America there are still some brand new, never titled T-Birds wasting away on dealer lots with big red "Clearance" stickers on 'em...

I'm just speaking from a design stance. I think some parts of the car are over done, over exaggerated and some minor changes will happen before it hits the assembly line. I think right now it looks a little too rough and too edgy. For example, I think that the rear will be changed some. Look at the exhaust. The tips are just weird. I don't see a stainless exhaust looking like that. Is it a plastic surround around the pipe? I don't know, but it looks cheesy. The interior is nice and I'm sure that will not change much if at all. Look under the hood. Let's see if it's that neat and clean on the production car.

I'm not saying it's not a feasable production car. Again, I'm saying that there are going to be changes made to it for purposes of production and practicality that will most likely altar the appearence in one way or another. I'm sure the production version won't have as much "flash" since these concepts are made to wow and impress.

I honestly think it's a badass car but it still needs some work. But what concept doesn't? Look at how the '05 Mustang changed from it's original concept.
Either way, that car is going to have one hell of a following and will be a great force on the streets.

Just like writing a paper in school. You get your ideas, lay out your plans and write a rough copy. Then revise. Chances are the rough copy will change a little if not a lot before you get to the final copy.
I think GM is in the final stages of the rough copy. Like I said, I'm sure changes will be evident when GM releases it's final copy or production car.

I agree that it will lose its appeal. How fast is yet to be seen. But right now, for me atleast, it has that "I have to have it" factor. I didn't get the same feeling from the Mustang. The Mustang is nice but I feel it will get better in the upcoming years as they make subtle changes. The Challenger in my opinion will have a stronger presence because of it's balance of retro styling and modern technology. I think it is just enough of each that it is far more appealing than the Mustang. In my opinion, Ford spent so much time giving the Mustang the retro look that it skimped on things such as the height. I think there is too much gap between the tires and the fenders especially in the rear. It just looks odd to me. So there's that and from what I've read, there will not be nearly as many Challengers produced as Mustangs. Of course I would kill for a '70 Challenger so my opinion is sure to be biased.

Now don't get me wrong on this, I'm not saying the Challenger is perfect either. I really think the rear brake light is hideous and I hope that is something that will change if and when this car hits production.

I was just stating my opinion. Not in any way trying to start an argument. If my opinions are wrong, so be it, but I won't find out that until I see this thing for myself on the showroom floor.

Ah. I get you now. I think the word 'refinement' was a little misplaced, but I see your point. As with all concepts, these will no doubt see some changes (like a typical engine bay, usable mirrors, lifted ride height). Some welcome, some probably not.

Still, as it sits now, I'm just glad to see three competitors in the pony car segment again, and from all three this time, rather than one against two.

Precisely, it's about time Chrysler Corp comes up with competition in the pony car market.
Now let's just hope it is manufactured and more importantly, priced competitively. Otherwise it will become another GTO.

I think they actually had some competition in the form of the 300 with the Hemi or the SRT-8 version.  Aftermarket parts are plentiful already.  You just wanted 2 doors:D

2 doors yes, but something a wee bit smaller and less expensive as well ;)

The Challenger is actually a few inches longer than a 300. ;)

Well there's a fun fact. I don't see it but then again haven't looked into it either.
Thought it was based on a shorter version of the chassis they used for the 300 and Charger.
So I'll stick with the 2 door defense then. :flame:  Still don't know a price on it though.

Looked it up, come on 1 inch longer. Oh well, I'm sure the Camaro is pretty big as well.
