o-rings December 28, 2005, 04:12:51 PM hi guys, hope your holidays are going good. i need some help on o-rings for my fuel injectors. i called ford and they said they are not available. only way to get them is to buy a fuel injector..lol..i have new injectors in my 86 cougar with the 3.8 engine. i suspect one o-ring may be crimped from improper installation..i have too much gas going into the throttle body...making a little rough on the idle. so my question is ...does anyone know where to purchase 0-rings for these cats? i appreciate any help...thanks in advance Quote Selected
o-rings Reply #1 – December 28, 2005, 05:48:49 PM if you cant find the right ones from Ford, maybe find out what the o rings are made of (nitrile i think) and match them up at the hardware store or a tool supply house like J&L Industrial Tools Quote Selected
o-rings Reply #2 – December 28, 2005, 06:37:11 PM NAPA should have "kits" as should most good parts stores. You used to be able to buy packets of o-rings at Motorcraft dealers too. Quote Selected

o-rings Reply #6 – December 29, 2005, 10:18:49 AM It's possible the injector bodies themselves are leaking. It happens. You might need to swap injectors. Quote Selected
