The GT500, forget that. You know Dodge will come out with an SRT8 version of this which would be the more direct competition for the GT500.
Ford better figure how to beef up the stock GT Mustang because an RT Challenger will be it's direct competition.
I love this thing. I'll get one in a heartbeat. Hell, may even consider getting rid of a couple of my projects for the opportunity to get one.
Not the Cougar though ;)

No big deal.

Saying it was a re-post wasn't meant to ground the thread to a halt or anything. In fact, it's good the pics are posted here, because I can't follow my own link back to the AutoWeek stuff half the time (like right now) to post 'em here. Seems their site just doesn't like me or my ISP or whatever. (never posted there.. so they don't know me for the ass I am, yet) :p

I really hope they come out with the Challenger again.  A 71 is my dream ride, but shoot, I will put up with car payments if they make that a reality.

That looks beautiful. I'm not a big dodge fan, but she really looks kickass. What are we expecting for a price range on this? 26~27k?

I imagine she will cost a bit more than the Mustang GT. Looks like she has a decent back seat for a two door, which is something the Mustang seems to lack.

It's a dodge, I'd imagine more then that...

A charger done to my preference (2006 DODGE CHARGER SRT8) comes out to $41,595 and a Magnum done up the way I'd want it (2006 DODGE MAGNUM R/T AWD) is $36,810

The challenger beats out the charger hands down imo and if I could afford one, I'd buy a magnum in a second but Dodge is just expensive.

Relax a little. It is a safe bet that the production version will be considrably 'watered down' from that awesome piece of machinery. Look at the prototype Mustang pics from a couple years ago, and the production version and you will see what I mean.
I sure hope they keep it great like that, but I suspect they won't.

A retro Challenger wouldn't be complete without the original style pistol grip shifter. The original shifter tended to get a little sloppy, but man that looked cool.

Two things I agree with. I would go bankrupt if Dodge releases it, but it would be worth it.

If they keep it looking anything like that when they come out in production...then mark my words.  "I shall have one".  I like the 'stang but this just seems more sinister  and should be quicker to boot.  Anyone know what the projections are for performance?  They sticking with the current output hemi or are there plans for more power in a few years?
