Beginnings of Steel cowl hood pics.

Here are the pics of the cowl hood I am making. So far it isn't much but a chopped up hood, but it is a start.

I am making a detailled guide on how to make one yourself. Hoping to complete it soon. Now that I'm back in a Fox bird I am getting more into them again.

looks good, we found out that it starts to get harder when you try to shape the cowl. i thought it would be alot easier, but forming the sides to the top at an angle and tapering it to the front proved to be a little harder than my friend and i wanted to go with his car. good luck, i realy want to see how you go about do'n it being as we gave up on it lol.

always fun to start a new project here is the last one i built 100% fabricated out of steel 7" cowl scoop :D

When I do mine, I will be modifying a header panel as well so it has a better transition...just don't know whether or not to use my original hood/header panel or the t/c hood and pick up a t/c header panel.

yeah, i like a more progressive smoother look to a cowl. im either gonna experiment with clay wich i have little experiance with or more likely foam jigging and cutting/epoxy, and mylar with kevlear and fiberglass to make a plug. who knows if anything comes of it though.

yeah shaping the sides is definatly the worst part. If I had a sheet metal brake it would be easier to form them..... Hmmmm... next project to make/buy. This hood will be 3 1/2 - 4" I have been thinking about making a cobra R type hood for these, but that is twice the sides to bend and one bend on each side is bad enough.

Sleeper, aside from that hood being on a chevy, that looks pretty good.

If I can get ahold of a TC Hood for my project. Im gonna try to make a cowl of sorts off of the scoops. Kinda like oldraven but a little more mild.

It's always nice to be noticed, but I have a stock hood. The strange part is I did a mock up for a cowl drawn in dust exactly like 1WLD BRD sketched in the first pic, maybe a month and a half ago. :D Scoops and all. At least now I'll have an idea of how it will look.[/QUOTE]

Oh shiznit. After being on here this long and when you made that comment I realized that it was a shadow. . Well At least in my mind(I dont know how I did it) saw your hood differently, It gave me a few ideas.
