I think the best bet for this spot would be at the park.

That's exactly where I was thinking--that way we'd have all day for everyone to get a chance to take pix.

That park has some really beautiful areas...the flower gardens are incredible!!!
I'm definately bringing the camera again this year, even to take picts of the flowers alone! LOL

Well, for one, it's not called MICROtel for nothing! LOL
But last year the room they gave us had a about 20 colonies of ants prancing around in the window seat and down to the floor. We complained and got an "upgraded" room.....that means the room we got looked EXACTLY the same except that it had one of those really small apartment fridges in it.
So, yeah, I won't be going back there, even though it's really close to RRI.

We also stayed in the Microtel for CJ '05. It really wasn't bad. We didn't have any problems with the parking situation, and we didn't have any problems with the room. The location was great, aside from the fact that we were seperated from everyone else.

Yah Microtel was decent. Stayed there last year. Parking was ok and room was "micro" but was good enough to sleep a good nights rest. Bed's were alittle smaller as my feet overhanged the end of the bed (im 5'10"). But heck for I think like 49.99 i paid for a night it was a great deal.

AAA Rate at Microtel is 37.00 a night through Yahoo Trips. We just booked ours. We'll be arriving sometime Friday afternoon.

Whoo-Hoo! I get to sleep on the floor!

I "procrastinated" in reserving my room this year - it was always on my list of things to do, but I have a LOT of things on that particular list at any given time...

This is probably a good thing when I think about it...
[LIST=1]
  • I've spent big bucks on my own room the past 2 yrs, and splitting the room costs this year will help out with all that gas I have to buy to get there.
  • I don't end up spending very much time in the room anyway...everyone's out in the parking lot having fun.

So anyway, thanks to Andrew and Claude! (and yes, I will buy some of the beer.)

Whatever you've heard, it's true. Including that one involving string cheese, whip cream, a donkey and Richard Simmons. I'm planning on bringing a motion detector alarm...

I'm sure Eric will get to it pretty soon....

I can tell you this:
Usually, it goes:

Friday night--hang out at the hotel.

Saturday morning-- around 10, Eric arrives at the hotel, and we all caravan to the park. Have the picnic, hang out, etc.
Saturday evening--after the picnic we go o Chili's for the car show and hang out till it's over, then go to a restaurant.

Sunday--hang out in the a.m. for a bit, then head out to Summit Racing to look around, go have lunch.
Others head home at this time, if they don't go to Summit.
After Summit, everyone heads home.

Some advice for the Car Show at Chili's.... bring a cooler with pop or water, etc in it.... and some stuff to munch on. It gets oveer around 9 p.m., so we are there for about 4 hours or so.
Also bring folding chairs, as it gets tiring standing all that time.

There are drinks available for about $1.00 a can for pop, or water. Also of course, Chili's is there and there is a Mc Donald's up the road.
Also, not far from there is Gorant's chocolates (OMG!! This place has such good chocolate! I make a yearly run when I'm there! LOL)

**Also, remember Saturday at the picnic we will have the Chinese Auction tickets available for sale, and Eric will (probably)have t-shirts and window decals there too. **

Hope this helps

I'm still here. :)

Some things are still pending so no itinerary yet. I'll have more info in the next few weeks. Those that have pre-registered will get an e-mail with the details when they're available.

One thing I did find out is that the Chili's show is now 5-8pm, not 6-9pm as in years past. So that means we'll be leaving the park an hour earlier. Not really that big of a deal, but we'll have to hustle to get the food on, get the Chinese auction done, and everything cleaned up before we caravan over to Chili's.
