I just grabbed up that business king room at the RRI for me and my girl.  I'm going to cancel my reservations at the Microtel tonight, so call in tomorrow if you need it.

Well everything is up in the air for me. I have a lot going on right now and am not sure if I'll be able to make it or not. :(

Hey Jade, I've yet to get with AAA for their route yet. I'm sure it's better. Also haven't had as many replies as I was expecting to the thread I posted. Nothing is set as yet, so we will see.

Eric, I was looking at dates for a possible dragway event on sunday.  The dates on your website are incorrect.  Friday is the 21st and sunday is the 23rd.  I just left you a voicemail so I get your attention right away,  hoping this doesnt screw with anyone's hotel planning.

Back to my dragway plans.  I looks like there are 2 possible options for sunday.  1st would be the closer QuakerCity Raceway which is only open for track rental on sundays.  I could check on more details on this one but im pretty sure It would be something in the neighborhood of 20 car minimum @ $20 a car, paid 2 weeks in advance which I doubt would fly.
2nd option would be for those interested to head north a bit to Thopson Raceway Park.  They have test and tune on sunday with bracket racing later on.  Gates open at 9am, brackets wouldnt start untill 2pm. with the park closing @ 5pm.  $10 for adults, only $3 for kids and only $15 a car for racers.  This trip would be little over an hour from the hotel.

I have a lot to do before im strip ready right now, im not sure she'd survive a trip down the strip.  I have severe bushing damage, still sitting on winter tires, quirky shocks and a good number of tuning issues to resolve.  Plus I think the engine is starting to go so all the work will still leave me in the high 14's

Whoops, my bad...it's fixed. I just reused last year's page so those were the old dates in there. I think everyone's hotel plans were already made before the page got posted on Monday, so hopefully there's no harm done. Thanks for letting me know Nick.

As for the drag racing thing...it's not my bag, baby. Besides, I am going to be too burned out on Sunday to do anything. Y'all would be on your own for that. One thing I do know with groups trying to get the track is that you have to have an insurance policy in place for the group...and we don't. So you'd have to run as individuals. Thompson would probably be the better of the two in that respect. The local Mustang club rents Quaker City once a year and they have no problems finding 20 cars. I think we would, honestly. First and foremost, you'd have to bring a helmet which I don't think too many people would just have laying around, or buy new for just one event. Plus, not too many people want to drive long hours to get to Ohio, just to run the risk of breaking something before they go home. At least, that's the excuse that NY Nick gives me. ;) In the end it's all a lot of money involved to race a car and that would probably deter most everyone. But if a group wants to go race, I think that's cool and would give you my blessing on it. Like I said, it's just not my thing. I have trouble enough just keeping the car streetable and driving in good condition!
