You'd be suprised to see what stock axles can do.  My buddy was driving to 12.0's every week with 5,000rpm clutch dumps.  Another buddy of mine went 11.76's for almost 2 years before destroying his spiders...but his car was an auto.

How do you have the wires for the injectors? are they still stock, or did you move them back over the stock firing order?

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Well I'd say thats a bit optimistic... With maybe a 1.85-1.95 60ft, I'd think more like a 14.1-14.2...

Interesting to see it runs as well as it does on the SO cam... Prolly pick up a good bit with some 1.7 roller rockers...

the car also weighs 3150# w/ driver ;)

never messed with the wiring. you DON NOT have to change the routing of the injectors.

on to another chapter.......

ive got the 8.8" in w/ 3.55 gears, 15 x 8 telstars, and BFG drag radials. my 1st pass last night was a 9.36 @ 70mph in the 1/8th. 60' was a 1.9.  i launched the car at 3,500. the car bogged real bad after the launch.

2nd pass, i launched at 4,500. 60' was 1.871. bogged again, but did a 9.359 @ 75mph.

3rd and final pass was made on a 5,000 rpm launch! 60' was a 1.99. car will not rev past 4,500 now. ran a 17.7 @ 70mph.

something isnt right with the motor, and ill be tearing into it tomorrow. if its something minor, ill be back at the track friday. this time ill launch off idle, so it wont bog the motor down.

im not sure if anything broke, but the problem seems to come and go. it seems that when the engine is under a load, the problem will come back. i can free rev in neutral, or do a burnout, without it cutting out. but as soon as i put it in gear and drive it, it will cutout around 4,000 rpms.

Sounds like the exact same thing my car is doing.  I believe it's my fuel pump/strainer.  When I'm low on gas and go around a corner hard while i'm on it...it will get even worse but only at about 4,000rpm.  I don't know, I have a spare Walboro 190lph pump so why not try it I guess.  Let me know what you find with it...I probably won't get to mine for a while.

Good luck!

fuel pressure at WOT is 41psi, and 32 psi at idle. so i dont think its a fuel pressure issue. alos the car idle a little rough.

I think you should throw in a mustang mass air computer, I'll bet that would help with the bogging down at the higher end. Maybe dirty fuel injectors?

Try cleaning the MAF?
It's Gumby's fault.

okay...thought the a9l has the HO fireing order...did you just move the plugs around? i didnt realy think the stock SO cam and heads would benifit from MAF. could be whats keeping your car running okay with the 19lb injectors...

you dont have to re-route anything, per eric's site. the car ran very smooth after the conversion.

ive already cleaned the MAF with brake cleaner. ive swapped computers, MAF sensor, BAP sensor, TPS, cleaned IAC, used jumper cables for additional grounds, checked/adjusted timing, checked for broken valve springs, replaced plugs, replaced coil. im gonna buy a new cap and rotor today for shiznits n' giggles. after that, i dunno what else to check.
