haha i passed emissions somehow...

pulled up and the guy put "unsafe" into the computer, said with it being a c4 and ratchet shifter they cant treadmill it, so from now on i get the idle test :D

still surprised considering it needs a tune up (original wires and everything, no smog and cats might be dieing)

my car passed with motorcraft wires that said 1986 on them. That was before the black exhust thingy though.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Lucky dog, ,,

There's a reason for me to learn to drive stick  - to avoid the treadmill test.  My new 5.0 HO transplant just failed NOx on treadmill.  I'm hoping its due to an overheating problem that I've just discovered.

You don't have NOx levels listed, they don't measure that when its tail pipe only?  The state limit for CO2 on treadmill is listed as NA, so that apparently isn't a law YET!

What! That's ridiculous. Maybe time for an H-pipe (squeeze one more cat in there)? Or maybe just "accidentally" have some exhaust leaks...

bondocougar: just put a full manual valve body in there with a ratchet shifter and ull get the idle test :)

What is this "emissions test" you all speak of?  The concept is alien to me.  :D

That's typical. Mine failed after my transplant as well. I hope you atleast got a two year extension since your emissions equipment is new.
