11" brake install with pictures

I have the car in the garage right now getting the 11" brake conversion described on coolcats.net. As of right now one side is completed.

Pulling the old stuff out.

Is everything direct bolt on, or did you have to modify anything?  I can't believe how 'small' those mustang a-arms look!

It's a direct bolt on. Same thing as an '87-'88 TC, less the ABS particulars.

I did the swap on my Sport back in '09, a lot better feel than the stock 10" rotors. I now have SN95 brakes ('96, to be exact) but some '99 up dual piston PBR calipers are in the pipline.

This may be a dumb ?, but the rotors are off of what?  this looks like a cheap, easy upgrade for my py stock brakes.  Where do you find that fitting adapter? I like the coil-overs, what brand are those?

I did the same thing with stock TC pieces on my Sport Coupe.  I was fortunate enough to have the entire strut to caliper assembly along with the CA that bolted right in.  I do like the Mustang CA you have there though.....just looks "cooler!"

Its pretty much a direct bolt on. The mustang spindles were a little narrower where the strut bolts up and the spacing on the holes was a little off. Both problems were easy to solve. Also had to enlarge the hole in the flex hose bracket on the frame a little to get the mustang hose to fit. The rotors I used were from a 93 Mustang GT and I got the brake line adapters from Napa.

I finished the other side 3 days ago, but I'm finally just getting around to post the results tonight. Everything is working fantastic. The Stopping power is awesome now, with no fade whatsoever under hard braking from high speed:D

I ended up getting some new ES swaybar links too.

My ST swaybar and some new tie rod ends

Other side done

Locking the wheel straight while I do the alignment

Pulling a straight-line off the rear wheels to align the fronts

Definitely fills out the 17s a little better now

I too had alignment issues after going from stock to 11" brakes, and then again from those to SN95 stuff. The first time I dealt with it, as it wasn't too terribly bad, but when I swapped in the Stang 5 lug parts, it was so bad I couldn't drive in a straight line just idling out of my building. I finally got it where it barely pulls at all using a method pretty similar to what you posted.

Looks good, and how do you like the SC wheel in there? I wasn't aware they'd fit...I may keep my eye out for one now..hmm.

I learned the alignment thing from a friend who's on the pit crew for a low budget, modified race team. The SC wheel works great. Even the cruise control buttons worked with no modification and best of all, it doesn't have a wrap to fall apart and make a mess. Its all one piece. How do you like your SN95 springs?

I gotta swap to those bigger brakes as well. What master cylinder did you use, and did you swap the proportioning valve?

I have the stock aluminum master and stock proportioning valve. Pedal feel is perfect. Probably gonna keep it as is.

I have the stock 10" drums. Just did new shoes, drums, adjusters, hardware, and wheel cylinders on those.

Ok....I wondered how you were running the stock MC and PV.  I tried that when swapped to rear discs and couldn't get rear brakes.

Thanks for the pictures, this is helping me get that extra push I need to get started on my 11" upgrade!  Also, love the Supercoupe wheel and the shadetree alignment.
