Transmission making weird noise October 10, 2011, 06:43:27 PM Hey guys, something under my cougar is making a metal to metal grinding sound when I get on the gas hard from a complete stop, or if I try to do a brake stand. It sounds like it is coming from the tranny. I looked up to see if there was a service bulletin for something like that. the only thing I could find was that they said some of the Flex plates and torque converter bolts didn't have enough clearance so it would rub. so I took off the cover right in front of the bell housing of the tranny, and it all looked well. I'm stumped :-/. Any help would be great.Thanks in advance! Quote Selected

My guess is it would have something to do with motor mounts and if they are loose you might be lifting the engine up and vibrating against something on the car... like exhaust... Quote Selected
