Hot Rod Power Tour 2011

Will there be somewhere that the actual route that will  be driven will be posted? From what I can tell it's usually not released until just before the event. I'll be a little ways north of Cocoa on the kickoff weekend but won't be able to get down there. There is a chance I could set up a "temporary campsite" near the road for the parade if I knew where it was going to be though.... like maybe somewhere along A1A?

They never release the actual final routes until a few days before the event or so.  They normally use 2 lane roads instead of interstates as much as possible.

Ah, crunch time; how boring would my life be without thee?

I thought I was ready aside from general cleaning and detailing. Just waiting to get my original wheel parts back so I could reassemble them in the configuration they were last year.
I called today to make sure we were on track to have them shipped back. That was confirmed but I was also informed that my new parts, that weren't  scheduled to be finished till July, will be ready in 2-3weeks!!!! So now I am scrambling to setup some new street tires to go on the wheels IF the new parts are ready in time.
I gotta have the parts in my hands by the 6th to make this work. The silicone needs 24hrs to cure before I can install tires.....

At least its only wheels. I was contemplating gettin the car tuned on the MAF before the trip, but decided I'm probly better off to keep the combo that hasn't left me stranded so far vs. playin with sumthin new. I'll get the MAF stuff straightened out after HRPT

lol, yeah you don't want to push your luck man.  I'm doing that to an extent with my fresh t5 swap...hopefully I can get a lot of seat time in over the next few weeks to work out any bugs.

Hopefully we will get to meet up in Indy, I'd love to check out your car.  What all stops are you doing?

I'm sure we will get everyone together here in Indy and organize up a bit. I'm going from Indy to the end.

I saw where Hot Rod released the driving route.  Looks like it will be going through Lawrence and Brown County on the way from Nashville to Indy, that should make for a beautiful drive.

I'm getting excited to hit the road!  Hope to see some of you guys in Indy.

I just got the cars out of storage and back into the garage on Sunday (the garage project went almost 6 months longer than projected...).  There's a bit of thrashing that's needed to make sure I make it to Indy.  Very little of what I had planned will be done for this trip, but at least I now have a comfortable space to work in!

Hit the Senate Coney Island in Metro Detroit for me.  I'm so disappointed I can't make it.
My car is a gravity hybrid.  The gasoline engine gets me up the hills, and gravity gets me down.

Power Tour is getting closer guys!  Last night I loaded up a small toolbox with anything I could think of that might come in handy in the event of a breakdown (god forbid).

This weekend I plan to wash and wax the bird and give it a good detail job before leaving on Tuesday AM for Nashville.

Look forward to seeing some of you in Indy!

I might try this next summer as I won't be taking summer classes for my masters (I should be done by next summer:)). The old T-bird needs a nice, long, road trip.

Bring ignition/TFI parts! That's the only thing I worry about breaking down on mine.

Blah, the shop doing the headgaskets on the 'underbird hasn't got it ready, yet. Looks like I'll have to wait for FTCF Dyno Day 2 :(

I reckon it'll be alright, at least I know the 'bird's getting taken very good care of :)

Tick Tock, Tick Tock

I bolted my wheels together today in the old configuration. Havent sealed them up just yet, in case the new parts show up tomorrow....
Spot cleaned the car, and waxed the hood and roof. Shes no show queen, but the hood and roof oxidize the fastest so I wanted to bring them up a bit. Also busted off the tails for some detail work and a reseal.
Tomorrow I will seal up the wheels(which ever parts are here) so I can get tires mounted up Wednesday morning. Vacuum out the car, put the tails back in, and lil odds and ends; should be good to go!
