Well, my vin code is M but my injectors are orange and I have the tubular headers on a stock exhaust. When I was browsing through the autozone website, (I know, not very credible, but helps my argument LOL) they had "M" for HO and "E" for SO I am confused now LOL

Well if you have orange injectors its an HO so that is a good thing .

87 is a weird year for those cars , it quite possibly is stock .
Mine was an 88 and I LOVED it

Actually after a little more research it seems  M is 200 HP HO  E is 225 hp HO
so either way you have an HO

I mis-spoke earlier  apparently its the 225 HO that is rare  in 87

According to my info all 85 and newer LSC's had a version of the HO, with M as the VIN digit. In '85 it was 180 horses (base Marks had a 140-horse CFI non-HO), 86-87 it was 200 (non-LSC models shared our wonderful non-HO 5.0 @ 150 horses), and 88-92 it was 225 (all 88-92 Marks had the HO).

Well, I am pretty confidient it is an HO, whether it is stock or not, dosen't bother me too much as it would become an HO anyway LOL

The M code 200hp 5.0 is a HO with e6se heads on it, the same as Thunderbird and 1986 Mustangs. When Ford put the better flowing e7te heads on the HO it went up to 225hp and became the E code.

That's all I can figure too because the Mustang used the 225hp E code the entire 1987 model year. The Mark VII LSC was the only car in 1987 to use the M code. :hick:

Cool you c00ched up a Mk7. Those are pretty  rare around where I'm at.

I like those, I just can't stand the front lights or the tail end... Other than that, I would love to have one myself.

Right on, not bad for $500:cool:

Thanks dude, I really don't like the ass-end much either, but, nonetheless it's a fox, and I couldn't find a V8 cat around here. Plus, it's already HO (although with the E6's) which saves me some time and cash LOL.

When I lived in Tampa, it was a very rare occasion for me to see one. Mine has been local it's whole life.
