Wifey says I'm getting a tag for my b-day Woo Hoo :D That's awefully nice of her cause I need that $350 for some exhaust instead of a plate:cool:

I fiddled around and painted some rusty stuff under the hood the other day and that's really about all I've accomplished lately... that  truck payment is freaking killing me:toilet: I need to get ahold of some sidework or something.... Anyway, unrusty pic tomorrow or the next day...

I haven't done much of anything either. ordered new front signal lights and inner lights for the TC front end and now I'm wicked broke. Funds are less than zero. Oh well, nothing new. The good side of it....I'll have new parts on the shelf waiting for the new paint, then I'll have cool stuff to install. Hopefully by the time paint is done, i'll have a few more parts purchased and shelved as well.

I'm sure we'll make up for lost time soon enough. Once fall gets here, and the temps dip down to a cool 90 degrees or so, I'll be going crazy sanding the Sport. I'd like to see your Cougar painted Sarjxxx. Do some bodywork and run it to Maaco. For now, I'm spending some time surfing the internet looking for parts. I still need a new Mach 1 chin spoiler and a couple of other small bits. I'm not too worried. I know I'll get what I need, I just don't know when I'll get them. Time to sell parts again.

What's wrong with 5.0 badges on fenders?

I think sarjxxx would be better off with 3.8 badges on the front fender vs the V6 badge on the deck lid.

I think 5.0 fender badges are over done and if you have a V-6...no badges at all.

I tell everyone around here who asks that I have a 3.8 V-6 with a loud exhaust.LOL.

Well, first off I've never done body work, so maaco could probably do a better job than I lol. And considering that HUGE dent under my passenger quarter I'd rather wait and just take it to a real paint and body shop and get it done 100% the first time around.

Besides that, my paint is actually pretty decent. There's a few spots where the topcoat chipped off and primer's showing through, but they're tiny and I rattle canned em (very carefully) anyway so you can't really tell. But when the thing is acutally clean, and waxed, it really brings out the shine. If you look a few pages back, I posted pics from when I waxed it... it still nice. [SIZE="5"]pg. 28, post# 274[/SIZE]

Paint will be the last major thing I do to this car. It's too easy to F--K up $2000 with so much mechanical work left to do.

ok so here's the promised pic. Nothing special, just a little painted rust and some cleaning. Painted up the bracket that holds on the MAP sensor and the headerpanel bracket/hood safety latch, and the hood safety lever itself and well the hood latch too.

Looking pretty spiffy under there! All the little stuff adds up. It's the thing to do when money gets tight. Make a little progress here and there, anyway.

I agree, the paint looks pretty decent when it's waxed up. Certainly presentable enough.

If mine wasn't 3 different colors I'd have driven it as it was. Unfortunately, I had a black front and rear bumper and a red driver's fender. Just too :mullet:.

Wouldn't it be sweet to kick the  out of some ricer with your car all those different colors? :)

I suppose. The TR7 is fun for that. :evilgrin:  I try to be good on the streets, though.
