There is usually date stampings done during engine assembly, but will have nothing to do with the vehicle assembly plant...I believe it is on the back of the block, on left side on most all Ford engines excepting for the 255/289/302/5.0... Still on top on the 400, but the intake doesn't cover that part of the surface....on the right side. I found it right away on the 400, since the intake was removed, and then looked in the same spot on the 351W, and that was being lazy on my part, apparently, lol. And here' I've always been going by the casting date code, lol, thanks! (goes to show I'm not an engine guru) Quote Selected
302 block numbers Reply #19 – December 29, 2009, 11:42:24 PM OK I didn't know the number was in same spot on a 400, should mean a 351M is same...BTW that 400 is the only one I can really make out but looks as if it starts with 5P, that would mean '75, Twin Cities assembly plant...
