Wow, that thing is sure crammed into that open space. Too bad it still won't have the low, low torque (and its related fuel economy) that made the original 5.0's so great. Of course they have 50 years and a few new tricks underneath it to get some of that back.

Finally, a mustang GT i would actually like to own. Whats not to like about 412 NA HP out of a high revving DOHC 5.0!

I have been reading up on both of the 2011 Mustangs.

A V-6 that makes 305 hp AND 30 MPG with an automatic...WOW

And with the GT @ 412 HP on the motor is super impressive if they can keep the weight down.

Congrats to Ford for now having some ammo for the Pony car war. :D  (...or is that clidesdale war....)

I think we will be surprised how much of this they will make up with the variable cam timing.  That and greater control over the ignition events will make the fuel economy much better too.

Hopefully I'll be able to afford a nice used 2011 GT when I graduate from chiropractic school in 4 years (I start Jan 12.).

Pretty sure his GT is alot better than a run of the mill Mustang GT.

4.6 DOHC swap IIRC Thats not really a GT anymore if you think about it.

7K always makes me cringe and smile every time. It's creepy and shagy all in one, like a really hot goth chick. I dream of a KB 2011 mustang GT.

Must be nice! I hope the new engine is a success. Part of me expects that once they come out there will be some sort of fail hidden in the new car.

I'm actually kind of curious how they handle variable valve timing on a V8 DOHC engine. Havn't looked into it.

Yup well, I should have been more clear and said, finally a factory mustang gt that i would actually like to own. The rest of them suck stock, though the 2005-2010 stang is very nice, It wouldn't tempt me away from my car. The '11 has that potential, though i like having something a little more personalized.

Stock 96-98 GTs are a joke and 99-04 GTs are....snore-ville. Nothing prior to that interests me either.

Valets in Iowa don't make that much.  Try doing your job in Vegas; it's sure to pay more.
