There is no way in hell I would pay $17,000 for one of these cars in 2009. In 2039 if you find me one in that condition with that mileage maybe, but not today....

THAT is a matter of personal preference. Shift kit, converter, hi rev governor, hardened input shaft, and setting the TV valve for holding gears for a bit = fun with reliability from an AOD.

I don't think they will be worth that in 2039. I really don't. No one wants them, they are only worth money to people like us who enjoy this. They never will have a real collectible value.

we have more then double the active users we used to have when I joined, and prices are going up. Time will tell.

I saw the link the OP posted, looked at a few pics, then moved on without a thought. Till just a few minutes ago, when I stumbled acoss the same car on fleabay.
Jeeze, it's like a time machine back to 1988...

If I was a serious collector, with a climate controlled garage...I'd buy it without blinking an eye.

I have a gut feeling that's why the dealer is asking a lot for it, because it's too nice to buy and drive everyday...

It's beautiful...and I say that pretty rarely about cars, and I detest white paint lol.
