1983 Mustang/TurboCoupe August 15, 2009, 09:53:21 AM Id like to think maybe the TC was too far gone and he put it to good use for parts. He took the interior out of the TC and put in the Mustang. Pretty cool.http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/1323897466.html Quote Selected

1983 Mustang/TurboCoupe Reply #3 – August 15, 2009, 11:10:45 AM That's the first time I have seen the Tbird dash swap into a Mustang. That looks pretty good. Big improvement over the original boxy dash and even the newer 1987-93 look. I always hated those Mustang dashes. Quote Selected

1983 Mustang/TurboCoupe Reply #8 – August 16, 2009, 06:12:32 AM I wonder how much work a TC front end would be on a mustang? its gotta be fairly close... Quote Selected
1983 Mustang/TurboCoupe Reply #9 – August 16, 2009, 08:31:13 AM I think its pretty badass. Not only to you get a better looking interior but you get a TC-ish hood on a four eye stang. I wouldn't change much more on that car. Quote Selected

Not only to you get a better looking interior but you get a TC-ish hood on a four eye stang. I wouldn't change much more on that car.Looking at the pictures, the TC hood scoops look like they were just worked into the original Mustang hood. It's certainly not a complete TC hood. The Mustang hood was cut with holes to accept the scoops and worked to make them mount flush. As I said before I always hated the 1979-86 style dash which was a refaced Fairmont dash. A long time ago I wrote Ford telling them that they needed to change the dash to something more attractive. I suggested they actually use a Tbird dash. What they came up with for the 87-93 Mustang was different and better than what they had but failed in my opinion to look attractive over time. They could have saved tons of money doing a direct swap using the Tbird dash. It certainly looks good in the Mustang as presented here and gives it a much more substantial quality look.If I was doing a Fox Mustang right now that Tbird dash swap would be the first thing I would do. The only real incompatability I see with this Tbird dash swap is that you would have to use a foot operated parking brake if you use the Tbird center console. Any Fox body dash will physically swap with each other including the Fox Lincolns. The only attention for adaptation would be dash wiring. The only dash that is not a direct swap is the SN95 Mustang one, as I found out too much cutting and fabrication for it to seem right. Quote Selected
