No I meant like a shield to try to keep as much hot air from entering the intake... For CAI purposes. Although I realize the turbine heats the intake air up enough that it almost really doesn't matter but still....

Oh, I see.

Well, I think that since the filter sticks through the front of the car so far, it'll mostly get air coming in through the front from below the nose. that's my thinking anyway.

A shroud around the filter might help a bit, but I probably won't go to the trouble.

He's got fighting merit. Capoeira is no joke, I seen some pretty sweet kicks in there. And beleave it or not capoeira kicks are VERY powerful.
Your son has skill. I see a lot of capoeira influance.

Thanks, man. I'll pass that on. He'll be pleased to hear the compliment.

I expect he'll be going to college on either a golf, music, or academic scholarship. He's a 4.0 Honor's student and can beat me at golf. He has been winning tournaments since he was 8. His trombone playing is as good as the golf (he's probably better than his sister who has a full ride in music performance.) Tricking is all his own thing, and I'm just as proud of that. Mostly because it has helped change him into a man. I got real lucky in the kid department.

I love the sound of the contact he makes on this 21 second vid. VERY pure. He's left-handed and I had him learn golf righty. Sort of a reverse Phil Mickelson thing to keep his dominant side forward. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6IMLLnYIW8

Lookin like this weekend's gonna do it?

Are you still going to dry run it or are you going to try it with the turbo hooked up?

I'm thinking I'll leave the turbo on at this point, but leave the crossover off for the first couple minutes of break-in run. Then connect it up after that.

As long as I don't run into too many hitches, yes, this weekend is the goal. LJ has his driver's test this morning, and Liz has is performing with a full orchestra Saturday. I'll be there for those things, but should still have enough time to get 'er done.

Got battery cables run up into trunk, finished all the underhood wiring including A/C and mirror temp sensor mounting.. Installed driveshaft.

Tomorrow is cleaning out fuel system and installing tank, installing shifter cable, soldering ends on the battery cables and wiring in the fuel pump relay. Then have to bolt up steering column and connect plugs on ignition circuit, install dash cluster, and load up initial tunes in computers.

Then I can add fluids, prime oil system and give it a go.

BTW, Johnny passed his driving test. Watch out for a clean white 89 Daytona.

Good luck. I'd rather reinstall my transmission again. I hate the  fuel tank supports on our cars.

Ended up helping my bosses son with his Prelude this morning. Took most of my day away, but I did get the shifter all mounted and the cable connected and adjusted, along with making a new gasket for the throttle body and attaching all the cold air pipe.

Just the connectors under the dash, installing the steering column, and finishing up the fuel system and stuff in the trunk tomorrow.

I'm thinking tomorrow is the day.

Shut the phone off. That thing always rings the most when I need to get things done.
Good luck.

Ain't that the truth. The kid is nice, but I think he's in over his head on the Prelude. He wants to turbo it, but has no real tools or experience. I've been trying to talk him into staying NA,but he's stubborn. With the stuff he has at his disposal he should just be doing bolt-on mods if any.

I was young once, too. Nobody could tell me anything I didn't want to hear then, either.

I like to help out co-workers and friends with car stuff. Anyone who wants to help themselves and isn't afraid to get dirty is welcome in the shop.

Same rules in my shop. My problem is a good buddy will inevitably try to reinvent the wheel on a project I'm working on or over tighten the s&*t out of it and break it.

Well, a total disaster so far.

Megasquirt won't communicate. Pulled it out and won't work on the bench either. Going to take some time to troubleshoot.

Fuel pump won't run, not even when I jumper the relay at the wires leading right to the pump. Gotta drop the tank to see what's up with that. It's a new pump.

Ignition is buggered, starter is on when key is in run. Tried two switches, both act the same.

Starter won't engage, just clicks at both solenoids. Battery is fresh.

I'm sure there's more, but I need to walk away for a while.

Bummer. Sorry to hear that. You have a good attitude take break and step back it will all come together.
This from the guy who threw a hissy fit in my garage today thankfully by myself. On another note I have a brand new aftermarket starter solenoid that runs the starter in the run position? It needs a whack once in a while. Ill probably get a new one from ford.
Good luck
