Reply #91 – May 14, 2009, 01:02:19 PM yeah as soon as i get some bucks... still waiting on this refrgerant job,... and im thinking the aic?? is bad,... cause when i stat the car, it jumps up to like 1800rpm, then goes right down to below idle, and almost stalls,,,, then when i put it in gear,,,, and turn the steering wheel at the same time,.... it WILL stall...... i also have the a/c and smog pupm stuff to properly cap off........its the only thing not keeping the car RELIABLE.... so id really like to figure this out,.....another thing i was thinking,,, maybe its those salt n pepper connectors on the intake????? IDK ill see you guys around.....P.S. I LOVE THE ATTENTION MY CAR IS GETTTING!!!!! Im soooo happy just to drive it,,, even with the dash all apart and taken out.... Quote Selected

The above problem would be anything from low fuel pressure, vacuum leak, to smog equipment acting up. How's it when cold (open loop) versus warm (closed loop)? When you start it up, what is it idling at in gear when cold and warm?It isn't out of the ordinary for the rpm's to shoot up for a second when cranking a vehicle as it is doing its best to get running, along with all the inconsistencies that exist on a fresh fireoff - no vacuum, excess fuel, needing to start grabbing data from all sensors, etc. The near stalling though, that can be anything or multiple things combined. Codes are a must to point you in the right direction. Quote Selected

If you run them you will need headers specially made for the GT40P heads because they have a different spark plug angle than any other SBF head. The headers cost about $250 and are avaliable from FRPP. The headers interfer with the stock motor mount on the driver's side. The mount needs to be ground down or you have to get a set of Chucks mounts. If you are on a budget then the GT40Ps may not be such a good idea for you..... Quote Selected

I just didnt know, if there was a SIGNIFICANT hp gain...obviously 70hp should feel a HELLOVA better!!!!! now i cant wait!!!! and yeah ill be keeping the e7,s for now... Quote Selected
