He'd hafta pay ME to take it....

And from what I see, he'd have to pay Paul and me both before I'd take it... Around here anything with rust is instant parts car...

Dunno if they still do, but 10 years ago the NY guys had one of the local dealers buying late 80's, early 90s GM stuff with bad engines and trannys... Seems they had a abundance of engine & transmissions and wanted our rust free bodies...

I am well aware of what makes a Turbo Coupe, being a person who has myself "grabbed what makes it a Turbo Coupe and tossed the rest", when I stripped that '87 TC parts car, sold off the engine and tranny, and kept the interior, rear end, brakes, and removable body parts. As I've pointed out, the engine in this particular one does not run. The ad says it's a sending unit, but that's the ad. Until I hear it run the engine's a paperweight, as far as I'm concerned. An 83-86 TC without an engine is just a plain old Thunderbird with fancy seats and bumper cover, but with a 7.5" rear and y brakes. A RUSTY 83-86 TC with a non-running engine has even less going for it. Even if the engine really does run it's got 220,000 km on it, and likely has not run in quite some time. At $1k this car is no gold mine, and there is no great lineup of Mustang or Ranger guys around here looking for thousand-dollar high mileage, non-running 2.3 turbomotors for swaps (and if there was, they'd probably be lining up for the more powerful and more common 87-88 engines).

On second thought, buy it by low-balling him (tell him exactly what you just told us), and let me know how much you want for the T3, if it's still any good. :mullet:

I know I would be thinking  look at these guys talking about the car I just bought telling me I got ripped off and that it is a pile !

It sounds like you know my story. :D Hey, I paid about three times the car's worth, which I found out after joining this site, and I'm still here, annoying you all.
