guess what i did on my day off????

i know this is not about T-bird or cougar but today it was  it was about 40 above .the sun was  out . i had a day off and my back didn't hurt.
so i been thinking about the bumble bee and i wanted to get it running as a driver.

 it had 6CYL 200 or 250(not sure which one at this time) and C-5 tranny, both had a very low milage on them . it still need a few things  to get it running.
well i remember the gas milage my 80 fairmont got with this combo was around 17mpg.

then i have a 1987 5.0&AOD tranny from  crown vic that only had 72,000 miles before the 1owner car forgot what a stop sign was.

then i remember about the 6cyl K member and i happen to come across this V8 k member.that some one had put rebuilt rack and brakes on when the car was wrecked.

 so on this nice sunny day. i got out to the tharapy room about 10am. started pulling the 6cyl/tranny and Kmember.

a little after 12 noon .i rolled the bumble bee out side for a bath of the under side,

 at abut 2 pm inside she went to have the V8 K member was going in;

here photos of her brakes with 88GT front spings cut 1/2 coil off.

  ok, it 4 pm and she is back on her 4 wheels waiting for the V8;

  so how was your day?
remember it easier to fix them, than to find them after they been crushed.

My day was spent at school wishing I could work on the Cougar and get some stuff done on it and legal to drive.

I really like that car.

That looks way more enjoyable than how I spent my day.
Yeah, I sure do miss the rust free Montana cars.  That stangs undersided looks clean as hell.  And yes, even when I lived up there, we did indeed throw cars that clean away.  I'm sorry as h*ll now though.  We don't find them like that down here.

hello

well after work .i hurry home like i had a hot date.
ran to my bed room,strip off the work clothes. jump in to  the tharapy clothes.
i got out to the shop about 7pm. i move the 5.0&AOD to front of the bumble bee.;

while the 5.0 was there .i change the front motor mounts from crown vic to fox body. then i put her up on jack two stands and i said ,here  open wide;

 after gettting the 5.0  sitting on the front mounts. i move to the under side to put the double hump cross member in. first one cross member side bolt, then  run around the car to other side. put in the other side cross member bolt. lower jack under tranny.  dang,i forgot to swap out the tranny mount. i get out ,go over to the 6cyl/C-5 tranny on  floor on the other side of shop.i get mount. go back to bumble bee. i get under car. take crown vic tranny mount off,install the fox body.
then it hits me! i'm laying on the floor under this car.which is under the 4 post hoist.  that is holding up casper(82cougarXR7). some times, i'm not the brightest bulb in the shop.

well at 9pm the5.0&AOD in.

 time to clean up mess i made. call it a night.

meh, i used to double stack my bay at the dealership all the time. every once in a while id get a nosey customer complain that thier car might get crushed. id jus tell them i spend all day standing under cars on the lift.....if it was gonna crush their car, i wouldnt be standing under it at all.

as long as the lift's safety locks are in working order, i wouldnt even worry about it.
