Winter Storage

So since winter/snow/salt/all around py weather is soon to be upon us northern folk who has put their Bird or Cat away already? I just put my 88 T-bird away this past weekend till early April. I'm just wondering how many of you are planning to put or have put their cars away this winter. Of course gas prices drop after I put the 93 octain chugging car away:shakehead

LOL! Same thing happened to me...filled up the convertible with 94 on Sunday, today the price of premium dropped 20 cents a gallon. Can't win, man. But I filled up last fall when the price of fuel was down. This past spring I was SURE glad I did that (and I ran around on just that tank the whole summer). No matter how much it drops now, it's a safe bet that 6 months from now it's gonna be a lot more...so this is still a bargain.

Anyway, both the '84 and the '86 are away now. It's kind of sad that we didn't have a great fall, as I usually get to do at least one drive with the leaves changing. Oh well...

I put about 1,000 miles on my car this summer so I bought $4 plus 93 octane quite a few times this summer:hick: Gas prices will be back up by the time I get the car back out in April. I wish I could pay $2.98 for it in June next year :rollin: 

October was not very good about providing nice weather for driving. I got the car out one weekend when it was in the 70s but other than that the weather has been pretty rainy/gray and cool. On the bright side I didn't have to clean out a bunch of leaves from in between the A/C condensor and radiator ;)

I hope I get to put mine away this winter.... I dont have anywhere to put it though. And storage is stupid on price. I need someone with an extra bay or even just a garage that will let me rent it for cheap, and get this SHO picked up going

Mine in the keep out of weather garage as always,till after christmas and I move it to the winter workover garage.where I install all my parts I bought all year.
Old Grey Cat to this.88 Cat, 5.0 HO, CW mounts, mass air, CI custom cam, afr165's, Tmoss worked cobra intake, BBK shorty's,off road h pipe, magnaflow ex. T-5,spec stage 2 clutch, 8.8 373 TC trac loc, che ajustables with bullits on the rear. 11" brakes up front. +

Kitty's still on the road right now suckin down 93 and leaving chirp marks everywhere. :D :hick:  But there has been snow in the surrounding area, and I should be picking up the title for the Vic tomorrow or Friday, so whenever mom can make a trip to DMV they'll get switched up. The cougar will be next to the house on a concrete pad. But I'll be home weekends as always to keep the area around it cleaned off, keep IT cleaned off. Probably throw a blanket over it then a plastic sheet over that.

Mine is still in storage since 03, although I did drive it around the driveway this summer. Put 300 feet on it this year. LOL

I may keep mine @ the house this year.  The garage is heated and I may actually get stuff done to it this time.  It's not going anywhere until I get a new clutch cable in it anyway.  It will save me some money on storage too.

With one less car at the house this year, it will be easier to move it in and out of the garage for when I need more room to work in there (i.e. welding motor mounts, etc).

dont forget stabil or seafoam in the tank and
run it till it gets mixed in all the gas.

Oh I put in Stabil before I filled it up and then drove it for a bit to mix it in. I used the Stabil I got from the Chi-Town Kruze you met me at. That's why I go every year lol ;)

Im thinkin I should probably do that too....I'm definitely keeping the battery indoors....although I may jsut start it every couple of weeks....might be like last winter I may feel like doing "burnouts" and sliding sideways up the driveway in the snow again :hick: :hick: :hick:

I put mine up for the winter,2 weeks ago.I am already looking forward to getting it back out in the spring................6 long months of weather I hate.

I need to do the Stabil thing and then both cars are going up.  Of course the T-bird paint job has been pushed back until Dec. so it will have to come back out again and go the 4-5 miles to the painters house.  I hate not driving my cars all winter but I hate rusty salty cars worse so into cold storage they go...
