customer service September 20, 2008, 12:18:06 PM I went to a "live chat" session with hughesnet in order to get help setting up my email and free webspace.I figured i would give this a try since i cant understand a word any of the customer service reps had to say.my question upon initializing the chat:"i am a new customer since july08 and i need help setting up my email account with a .hughesnet"Here is the chat session........... I am becoming a bad person inside because things like this fuel my disreguard for the sensitivity of others. Do i care,,,, I use to but the older i get the more i come to understand the more stupid or crooked you become, the more you get in return. This is an example of how all of you wanting things cheap lost in the long run. Outsource,, to drop the cost was a facade.***Waiting for an agent to respond****** Chat Session Opened *** You are chatting with Eugene.Eugene: Hello Scott. customer service Reply #2 – September 20, 2008, 02:18:31 PM sounds like time to make a phone call! Yes call them and talk to them. Sounds like you got and Ashat that wanted you to figure it out on your own. If you really need to Email them get yourself an email account at one of many places on the net. Gmail, Breakthur, AOL . Pick on and email if you want but I always like to call then you know when you have a person not some machine that can interface with you! Quote Selected
customer service Reply #3 – September 20, 2008, 10:45:24 PM That was most definitely a bot. quite good if you know how to ask it specific qustions, but if the program does not understand you, it disconnects. Quote Selected
customer service Reply #4 – September 21, 2008, 02:18:55 PM I have called, they sound so far away my phone not only makes them sound far but static as well in addition to thier words they use.Example:"my i know your nom?""may i know you nombur of the telephone?"I called after posting this up and yes, the same situation, cant understand them, lack of volume ect. I asked if they could call me back. They said they could not call me unless the connection was dropped.I figured if they called me back, the connection might be different. I think they are using internet talk pathing to answer calls. So,, I made the connection drop right in the middle of her answer. No call back. Oh well, my problem.:DThe "LIVE CHAT" session must be a lie, live chat with a bot,, stupid. Quote Selected
customer service Reply #5 – September 21, 2008, 03:29:53 PM I would find a number that connects you to someone local whether that be a sales or service number. I would explain to them that you want to speak with someone who can help you and state that you do not want another number. They can transfer you but you will not take another merry go round ride. If they say no then ask for a supervisor tell him/her what has transpired and state you want to cancel citing unusable service. It is time we all take a stand against this sort of thing customer service need not be outsourced to some foreign land so corporations can save money that hardly seems to be passed back to customers. This corporate tactic is also self defeating since there will ultimately be less customers due to folks who could have this job are now unemployed and can not be a potential customer. I am tired of waiting forever to talk to some unintelligible individual who is seldom helpful. I think if we vote with our dollars things have a chance (although slight) of changing. The ads all state good service, and happy customers but when called upon to deliver on these promises companies who do not step up to the plate should not get our business. customer service Reply #6 – September 21, 2008, 05:07:29 PM I think it's time you found a new company.I have absolutely no patience for the type of ordeal you are going through. I do my shopping around, and try to land on not what's the cheapest but what's reliable & serviceable; you get what you pay for. If I was in your situation, dealing with that degree of online service, or phone support, I'd be changing companies faster than you could ask "my i know your nom?" or "may i know you nombur of the telephone?".Just my 2cents. I just can't support a business that doesn't help me on the level that it should. Whatever that level is.For the most part, and in any way I can, I usually try to deal with local companies. I find that, failing a phone call, I can show up in person, and the situation is ALWAYS rectified on my first visit. Unfortunately, this sometimes means I am paying more.It just doesn't seem like, jcassity, that this company is deserving of your attention and dollars. Quote Selected

customer service Reply #10 – September 24, 2008, 09:24:36 AM You think trying to get service out of someone you're dealing with is bad, you should try getting service out of someone you're not dealing with anymore. I got high speed back in spring so naturally I cancelled my dialup. It was April. I'm still getting monthly bills. Every bill I get, I call the place and yell at some Indian, and every time they tell me they've straightened it out. I've sent letters and emails. Still getting bills. I'm just glad I didn't have my credit card attached to the account, or had it set up for automatic withdrawal, otherwise I'd be fighting to get my money back instead of simply arguing about whether I'm going to pay or not.The funny thing is, you'd think after not paying for five months they'd cut me off anyway... customer service Reply #11 – September 28, 2008, 07:40:15 PM I suppose you could go here...http://kb.hughesnet.comThen click on the modem you have. Then click "email" on the left side. Then click "HughesNet E-mail" on the right side. Then go down a dozen lines to where there's a couple of choices that both begin "Create an E-mail Account...".There's also the option to set up your e-mail program automatically, using the tool found at:http://hnetemailsetup.hughesnet.com/default.html Quote Selected

Yeah, like that's gonna happen...Some how Alltel got my name and address for a delinquent customer of theirs(the SS does not match however)... Been like four years now and it's gone through three or four different collection agencys... They call, I say fornicate off(but haven't called in the last year since I put the house phone on the no call list)... Have sent several bills offering to settle for half price... Sent one back explaining it wasn't my bill, made no difference... Since it's not on my credit report, now I throw them in the trash... Quote Selected
