Not sayin' 'no', just askin' why.  A good place to start is Maximum Boost by Corky Bell.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

i wouldt know, thats why i'm asking :D

on a more serious note, i'd be looking to do a budget build.  twin turbo carbureted would be awesome, but it would also be wicked cool to do this to a cfi setup.....and i just so happen to have...a cfi setup.

DISCUSS!!! :D

1) Garrett says there are three times one should consider using multiple superchargers.  Good info: http://www.turbobygarrett.com/

2) I'm not really sure why anyone would consider running a carburetor with a turbo these days but some people do.  It's not hard to find everything you need for EFI these days.

3) If I were to budget build a TT SBF, the menu would include a couple of TC turbos (either T3s or IHIs depending), forged pistons, one large or two small ICs, and EFI.

hmmm.....i had an interesting idea.

does anyone know the cfm rating and injector sizes in cfi units?

from what i've heard, they use a pair of 42lb injectors in a regular cfi.  i was thinking a dual 4bbl manifold with a pair of cfi's on 2bbl-to-4bbl adapters, and a turbo to each cfi.

i understand that the biggest problems with a standard cfi is the manifold, so swap manifolds and go from there.

Thoughts?

The biggest problem would be finding a computer to run the thing... Maybe you could run it on one CFI unit and rig a relay to to connect the second CFI under boost... Likely it would be far from optimum, and probably would not supply fuel for more than 5-6 PSI...

BTW the HO CFI used 52lb injectors, std 5.0 46lb, and 3.8 37lb...

42 lbs injectors, PMAS blow thru tube calibrated for 42#er's, stock eec, locked timing (spout out), 8 psi, intercooler.  This simple setup should be good to 400+ hp on a stock block, assuming you don't lean out and split the block in two.  Get a good wideband O2 kit with data logging abilities!

I had my entire kit together and was ready to cut my pipes but changed routes.  I have a lot of info if you have questions...  also have a bunch of stuff for sale (injectors, IC, cheapy turbos, wideband kit, boost gauge, BOV's, mandrel bends, header s, 5.0 TT headers, etc...)
