Differential cap gasket... May 23, 2008, 06:56:34 PM Hello!I got a FelPro differential cap gasket and I thought it would be a nice Saturday project to replace it (or rather finally put the gasket there) as the RTV gasket it leaking (guess I squizeed it too much when I was changing fluid last time).I was wondering if I should set the gasket on RTV or simply remove old RTV put the new gasket and tighten the nuts without RTV?Thanks!Mariusz... Differential cap gasket... Reply #1 – May 23, 2008, 07:33:27 PM it should seal fine without sealer if both surfaces are clean,I like to use a gasket shellac on mine like permatex indian head glue, or permatex hi tack. Quote Selected
