so i finally installed the manual seat track the other day replacing the electric one, roughly 20lbs lighter btw. all bolted up, installed in the car, i sit down it the seat, and the track has about 1/4-1/2'' of play forward and back! that would make me a nervous wreck driving around havin my butt sliding around everywhere. is there anyways to take this play out or adjust it? i would have to assume no, but its worth asking about. if not does anyone know of a low mileage, good, WORKING, ZERO-PLAY driver side seat track for sale?

i cant remember who i bought this track from, but i do know it was someone on here, a regular who i trusted enough to send them money(dont trust the new guys). so im kind of upset about that.

I'll check in my garage, if I not junked, I have 2 or 3 sets of T-Bird/Coug manual tracks in great shape, I'll sell for cheap.

Allow Me around 10 Days to found this, IF I already have...

Hmmm...I've been thinking about this all weekend and cannot come up with a logical reason why it would do that, all things being correct. Track bolts to seat frame, then bolts to floor. Unless you have loose bolts/nuts at those 8 locations then the track itself is as secure as it can be. The only "play" in the system would then be if the lever mechanism is loose or if the teeth are not fully engaged into the sliding part. Are you absolutely positive that you got both tracks lined up with each other before bolting the seat track to the floor? It is possible to be one tooth off, still get the seat bolted in, and everything looks okay except that the lever's teeth will not be seated in the sliding track correctly. I've done that before, I'm sure others have too.

if it can be bolted up with one track a tooth ahead of the other, it is possible i did this. i tried to keep them even. if this did happen wouldnt the seat be crocked, and even if it was off, shouldnt it have straighten up when i tried sliding it?
