I'm sticking with the stock HO cam and 1.7 rockers; wanna keep a good bit of low end power.

As far as drag radials go, the 7.5 should be fine (mine is a posi rear also).  I just need to grab a driveshaft first.  From coolcats:

Most Ford owners look down upon the 7.5" rear but it is a fairly tough unit. People have used them in 12-second cars without problems, and they're not nearly as weak as people make them out to be.

Ifixyawata had one break when he was just driving.
It's Gumby's fault.

If it breaks, it breaks.  Just gives me a better reason to go ahead and grab an 8.8 when I get the money :) .  Besides, it's gonna be a long time before I get another set of rims and DRs.  I'll probably have the 8.8 and 5 lug swap done before that time.  For now, I'm just gonna enjoy roasting the tires off the line :D

Jeez, the thread dies for a week when I need help deciding on a cam, then I make one mention of my 7.5 rear and I get mugged :punchballs:

I'm a poor , slowly piecing together/buying a $1200 engine build that many people could get in a week, much less getting new rims and drag radials.  I assure you all that my tires will be the weak link for a long long time.  They already are with the stock HO.  :hick:

Ah well you should be fine with the cam then. When staying SD many times it's worth it to stay with the stock cam as it's much more driveable. Believe me I know ;)

BTW what's with the new drive shaft? Is something wrong with yours?

You should have no issue with 1.7's and the Crower......Always check though (you know that though ;) )

My 7.5 takes all the abuse I dish out, the locking unit IS rated for 800 Ft/lbs and I have Moser axles.....

I saw this quote in the Corral thread:

The stock cam with 1.7 rockers, retarded 2-4* will give you a fantastic torque curve with peak HP around 5200 RPM. Torque should peak around 3900-4000 RPM.

Considering that the stock cam and a fuelie setup (long intake runners) usually peaks at about 1000 RPM below those #'s posted in both HP and Torque and at 0* no less.  My combo makes peak torque at around 3700.  I aint buyin those #'s.....especially with a set of unported Y's.....
Peak HP RPM might be close, but peak torque RPM will most likely be a LOT lower.....I'd guess about 3200 with the cam retarded back a bit.
The 15511 has similar overall duration and slightly less intake duration @ .050" than the TFS1 and has a wider LSA.

FWIW if it were me:
I WOULD be using 1.7's
I WOULD be running 4* retard on the cam timing
I WOULD be running the Crower 15511

Grab that 2400 converter too ;)

@tjet:  Yeah my car has the infamous clunking issue; has since the day we bought it.

@V8Demon:  you!  I finally set my mind on using the stock cam and now you come in here recommending the Crower.  Ugh I'll never be able to decide!  :toilet:  It doesn't help that the $150 shipped offer I got is extremely tempting, but would also still set me back money-wise.  Would I still be happy with the low end power of the Crower?

Could anybody comment on these rockers?  Are they cheap/weak and not worth it, or just cheaper because they aren't all painted up?

EDIT:  Nevermind, I'm an idiot.  Ignore me!
