I just got an offer for $150 shipped on a Crower 15511 cam. Specs here:

Hard to pass up a deal like that on a cam that's known to work really well on speed density.

I've already been up and down this road several times.  As long as the cam choice is right (stock HO, Crower 15511, Comp XE264/270), SD is fine.  Feel free to donate some money and/or parts so I can swap to MAF.

Wow $355! thats expensive. If you need to convert to mass air let me know I have a mass air computer and meter for sell that is setup for 24# injectors. I haven't posted it yet but I'll let them go pretty cheap.

Really try to go with MAF instead of SD. My combo runs soooooo much better on MAF than SD that it's not even funny. If you shop around you should be able to get everything you need for less than $150. Find an 89-93 5.0 Stang at the wreakers and just grab everything you need to convert to MAF. Go to the wreakrs or find some local Stang guys to get the stuff from. The stuff you see on ebay is way overpriced.

I'd love to go to MAF, but it's really pushing my budget at the moment.  I'm currently saving to pay off the aluminum heads and possibly jump on the deal with the Crower 15511.  But if I go MAF, I'd be tempted to get the comp XE258.

I've got a lot to think about.  The deal I could get on the Crower cam is really really good, and it works well for SD.  But if I end up going MAF, I'd prefer the really low end power band of a cam like the XE258 that probably wouldn't run that great on SD, and then it would be a good idea to go for a 24lb injector setup, which is even MORE money.  So I don't know yet...I just need to stop changing my plans.

Ok well I've made some final decisions:

I will not be going MAF right now.  Don't have the budget room.  Either the stock cam or the Crower 15511 cam will work perfectly fine with SD.

Heads and intake will not be ported at this time, also due to budget room.

I will not be needing 24lb injectors at this time.

Ok, with that said, the final decision I need to make is:  Crower 15511 for $150 shipped or stock HO cam for free?

Crower - Really great power from 2,200-5,500.  Highly recommended by guys running speed density, and even Tmoss said it'd be a great cam to go with my setup.  It'll definitely bump up my rwhp some.  Keep in mind that if I go this route, I'll be using 1.6 roller rockers instead, due to possible clearance issues with stock (mustang) 5.0 pistons. (Feel free to chime in on this clearance issue as well.)

Stock - Low end power = fun.  And it's free.  No extra rwhp bump.

Discuss the cams!

EDIT:  On page 2 of my corral thread, there's some very good cam insight.  Refer to posts 49, 53-59.  http://forums.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1036977&page=2

Alright....well at least the corral folks helped me out...

Anyways, just spent the afternoon cleaning, sanding, and painting the upper intake.  Here's how she looks now:

Lookin a lot better, but I have one more trick up my sleeve before I consider it finished ;) .

I'm also workin on a deal for some 1.7 roller rockers.  :)

If you go with the Crower cam be prepaired to have to adjust the idle a bit. As I have run a cam in a SD engine it will require a bit of idle adjustment before it will run right (ie no surging/cut off when stopping). You can raise the idle with either the screw under the TB or one of those air adjuster plates that fits between the IAC and the TB. I have one I don't need now since I went to MAF that I can let go for $5 if you want it.

Also I wouldn't put drag radials on yet (like you were talking about in the Corral thread). I wouldn't trust a 7.5 with them as it increases the likely hood that you will break the rear..........
