I should have put a 2400-2600 stall converter in mine when the engine was out but I didn't. Probably would have made a difference in the SOTP meter.

Nothing new right now as far as the engine project is concerned.  The intake has been shipped and should be here next week.  I'll definitely post pics when I get it and as I clean it up.

However, I did take a few videos of the Tbird stretching its legs so I could compare the 2.73 days with how she is now with the 3.27s.  I never realized how much difference it made till I could make a direct comparison.

(NOTE:  crank the sound up :D .  The cam I used sucks at picking up sound)

With 2.73s:
Up to 75 mph

Note the difference in how it revs.  Before, it took seemingly FOREVER to get into the power band.  And yes, the speedometer is still off since I haven't gotten a new gear for it.  But after driving it like this, I do know that at the most, it is 10mph fast (and is more accurate towards each end of the speedo's range).  So in the 0-60 run, I ran the speedo to the 70 mark.

So anyways...yeah...even the stock HO has GUTS!  Can't wait to post vids like this when the new engine is in.

Yeah it's hard for me to just not grab a cheap set of GT40Ps and get this thing together ASAP.  But I'm really gonna take my time on this, spend the extra money on the heads, spend some time porting the lower intake and heads, get the short block refreshed, etc.  I know I'll thank myself in the end.  I'd love to get 260-270 at the wheels with this.  Which puts me right around 300 at the flywheel.

The tbird also might need some new tires soon...which got me thinkin about grabbing a set of snowflakes or somethin while I'm at it.  Not sure though; I really want to put all my money towards the heads and getting the short block in the machine shop right now.

well i could have a set to you from the yard up here for a STEAL(pm me if you want to know price)
Im gonna run a explorer upper and lower, 306 bottom end, I decided I'm gonna go with a mild custom cam, gt40 iron heads, headers, open up the intake and heads with some porting, explorer TB for now, later 70MM tb and spacer, then open the next up that big as well, plus the 5 speed, im hopeing close to 300 at the wheels, but it might be a pipe dream. Anything will move this boat better then the H.O!

Yeah 300 at the wheels is probably going to be a very long shot, but who knows.  I still don't think my car should be running mid 14s (in non perfect weather no less), but it is.

well my car stock is supose to run 16's so......
around 3900lbs takes a lot to move!!

I just added a project to do list and a parts list to the first post in the thread to keep myself on track and to give everyone else a way to quickly check up on progress.  I'll keep it updated as work continues, and if anyone finds deals on parts I still need, feel free to inform me.  :)

I've been thinkin a bit lately.  The tires on my 8 holes are starting to show their age, so I figure instead of spending money on new tires for these, I should just get a nicer set of rims like I've been wanting for a long time.  So now I'm going to add a poll to see what you all think I should get.  Choices (4 lug only):

Snowflakes
Turbines
10 holes
Cobra Rs
Other (specify in post)
