I am still working on the Autometer Gauges so I will have more pictures soon. The car runs great and has lots of power. Still have the 2.73 7.5 out back, the '88 TC brakes and rear axle (3.55 for now) are next next.

You've got basically the same engine I do (with a different cam). Torquey SOB isn't it? ;) I have mine bolted up at an AOD but I have 3.73 gears. Makes for a fun drive.

now I want to drive mine but I can't. The roads are covered in salt and there is 12 inches of snow on the ground.  winter.......

very cool, you are the first on the board to swap in a 6speed (successfully, as far as I know), need all the info on what was required for it, LOL.  why didn't you paint the engine bay while it was out?

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Yeah, it worked. The guy that ported my heads thought I should be OK with ptv clearance and I've heard of other guys getting away with it so I sent the 1.6 RRs back and got 1.7s. Put it in straight up. Never did properly check ptv, just like to gamble I guess.:hick:  Yes it has 6 forward gears. Yes, the driveshaft was a custom piece and part of the kit from D&D.

No, it doesn't seem very torquey at all. It's quite the opposite really. Don't get me wrong, it's got torque. It just has WAY more top end. I don't have the flow numbers infront of me but I think it was 215-220cfm @ .550" lift with the intake bolted on the head. It will be much more fun to drive with better rear gears.

I just didn't feel like painting it, maybe next time around.
I had to buy the following:
T-56 (came with shifter and bellhousing but got the Pro 5.0 shifter)
Crossmember
Driveshaft
Clutch
Clutch Fork and cover
Clutch cable (w/ firewall Adj. and alum. quadrant)
Clutch pedals (from a mustang)
A new gear for the VSS (got a new sensor too)
Shift / boot
ATF

D&D sells all the required parts with their "bolt in" kit to make it as simple as possible to install it in a Mustang. I just had to buy all the parts as if I was doing a T-5 swap. I did have to do some cutting around the crossmember to make it fit.

Not the best looking cuts but it works. All the trial and error left me with some jagged edges.
