Project Goldmember!

:pics-stfu:

Anyway, I'm building a 302 to put into an 84 TC.  It's a shame I know.... :flame:

Anyway, so far the bird dead.  Blown motor.  So here's the motor I'm building.

It's a 302 with 180,000 miles.  I pulled it from my old 84 5.0.

SPECS:
COMP Cams Xtreme Energy Flat Tappet Cam:  CCA-31-238-3
Duration at 050 inch Lift:     218 int./224 exh.
Valve Lift:                  0.493 int./0.500 exh. lift
    Lobe Separation:              110 Degrees

Heads:  E7's with a nice valve job.
Intake:  Wieand Sealth
Carb:    Holley 1850, 600 cfm
Headers:  Jegs!!!!!!! Cheap longtubes 3in collectors
Paint: New Ford Grey

Anyway,  I've got a bunch of parts lined up for it and really the only thing I'm waiting on to finish putting it together is the valve springs.  I thought I could get away with stockers but the machine shop guy said NO!

So here's some pics.  Feel free to ask questions or flame me for destroying a TC.

Why not stay EFI?  Well I guess you dont' have all the ancilliary parts for it.

It will be nice to see that car moving again though.

Be sure whe you repaint it you do it in the factory color ;)

I didn't know that was a condition of the sale Chuck!  Well, I guess I could... mainly because it would look bad with this!  :shakeass:

Also I threw in a pic of the header pipes.

I think I'm going to go take a ride on the Harley and take some pics of the bird.  It's not at my apt. at the moment.  I figure it would be nice to have pics for my thread.

Tell me, why does it feel like I'm a post w now that I have a thread?  I really can't help but watch it every so often.  There is so much I want to add.

This is near-identical to the next car I plan on building. I will be following this! And yes, pics of the car please :hick:

Stick or auto? I'm planning a Mustang T5 in an 84 TC behind a carb'd 87 302...

Does anyone else have this color t-bird?

Also:  Chuck, I would've kept the car a 2.3L but it's my first big project and I don't know anything about those motors.  Also the wiring was trashed.

And it's going to be an AOD.  Shift kit/rebuild in the spring.  (ratchet shifter???)

Hmmm... I'm interested in how that setup performs. It's practically identical to mine save the cam.

Heeeeeeey.... I know where I've seen that car before!

would have kept that 4 cylinder engine in my bird had I known then that it has all kinds of potential. Oh well. I like 302's too. Good luck on that. Take your time for sure!
