Update: Reply #18 – October 20, 2007, 11:40:41 PM Got the car and the motor at the same garage. Claude and Jim pulled the 4 cylinder out today and now we've been cleaning the engine bay. Here's some pics for your enjoyment. Quote Selected

Project Goldmember! Reply #22 – October 21, 2007, 02:10:54 AM Took some time on that engine bay getting it clean. We ran out of Greased Lightning so we started using dish soap diluted in a spray bottle. Worked amazing. Right now we are taking a little break from it. Here in a bit we are going to bolt the transmission on to the motor and probably pull the car in and drop it in the car. I think John is undecided on paint choice for the engine bay so we may paint it after its together. I say to keep it gold. Alot of the paint came off with simple scrubbing.Yeah Paul that engine bay is rust free. Hell the underside of the car is in amazing shape. Well we are heading back into the garage.. Working through the night. Quote Selected

Project Goldmember! Reply #26 – October 21, 2007, 07:23:01 PM I believe that would be 302 HO grey. Quote Selected
Project Goldmember! Reply #27 – October 21, 2007, 07:35:55 PM Glad to see progress. Not much paint stays in the engine bay once you really clean them. I think it's all just usually overspray from the factory anyway. Quote Selected
Project Goldmember! Reply #28 – October 23, 2007, 01:01:53 PM A little update:Spray bombed the engine bay universal gold.Dropped in the motor and forgot about the headers. Pulled motor up to get headers in and they would not fit. So looks like no longtubes for me. Other than that not alot of progress. Still waiting on some parts. I have 1.6 roller rockers and an H pipe on the way. Still need an electric fan and a few other parts.Anyway enjoy some pics. Quote Selected
