They look good. That's what I'm running on mine. Nice quality stuff. I was going to go with 1.7 Crane rockers but with a .533 lift cam (with a 1.6 rocker) I'd be smacking my pistons:hick:

Here's an update.

It's just about done.

-I've got the carb off to put a new linkage shaft in it.  I needed the TV rod hookup on mine.

-A little bit of wiring, and a couple of gages.

-Brakes!  Don't know if i need a master cylinder yet but they don't work.

-Floor shifter.  I broke mine. :(

-I got a new (used) exhaust system.  Hooker super comp headers, Mustang H-Pipe, and two flowmasters.  All in good condition ready to bolt on.  220 bucks off of craigslist!  w00t.

Anyway, Here's some pics for your enjoyment.  I can't wait to post a video of her.

That's coming together nicely!

As for your shifter, I can't remember, are you running an AOD or a C4? Have you thought about an aftermarket shifter?

It's an AOD.  What I'm really thinking about is a 5 speed.  That tranny has been in and out of more birds then you'd believe.  This is the 3rd bird that tranny has been in, and it's org. a lincoln transmission.

So pedals, 5-speed, and new gears for my 8.8 are what's comming this spring.

You need an AOD shifter then, the 84-86 TC floor shifter would be missing a gear.

But yeah, do the 5-Speed! That's what's going into my 84 project. I got lucky and started with a 5-Speed car though ;)

i may be wrong, but doesnt an AOD shifter only have 3 positions for the forward gears? i understand its a "4-speed", but OD is elec/hydraulically controlled.

Yep *D*, D, and 1. The AOD is all hydraulic and the AODE/4R70W are electronic.

The 84 floor shifter from the TC reads PRND21.  So it's still the right detonates for an AOD. It had a C3 in it with the 2.3L.

Guys must not be use to these 4 eye girls. ;)

If all else fails the project will wait til i get a ratchet shifter. :(

From what I've read, and seen in person, the shifter from a TC auto will NOT work on an AOD.

I've got one of each, they don't match each other's detents, although they look similar.

Anyone else corroborate this?

Taken from coolcats tech page.

"All C3, C5 and AOD transmissions will use the same kind: with 6 detentes, or notches. You cannot use a shifter meant for an A4LD (4-cylinder) transmission, like those used in 1987-88 Turbo Coupes, since they have 7 detentes."
