0-60 mph run

0-60 mph run. Full tank of gas, feathering the throttle to keep from spinning, and the car wasn't all the way warmed up. About 6.8 to 7 seconds (photobuckets time thing is screwed up:hick: ). I wonder what she'd do with 2.5" pipe aft of the H-pipe and a GT40 style intake :evilgrin:

I would think you would get a better time than that...me and Zonda with regular HOs both get just a hair over 7.  But the car sounds really good.  Maybe more grip will help.

The squak from the tires is 1/3 throttle:hick: . I can't nail it from a stop or I spin for 10-12 feet and the ass of the car goes sideways. The 215 section tires are just overmatched by the engines low speed torque and the 3.73 gears. If it could grip it would probably do 0-60 in about 6.5 seconds. Plus it's got, uh junk in the trunk. I have a full size spare, a jack, a tool box, deatailing stuff, and foldable chairs in there. The car pretty much loaded (just missing a sun roof) so I'm pretty sure with me in it (I weigh 155 lbs) it weighs close to 3700 lbs.

SICK!!!  you got anger under that hood! 6.5 seconds is like stock mustang territory. id LOVE to be able to say mines ---just a hair even--- under 7 sec. maybe the 3.73s.
 
great to hear that you gotta actually keep off the gas. thats how you should be driving these cars....sideways. :hick:  btw howd u time it? just the old stopwatch deal? lol prolly about good enough really. but i do love my gtech. like 10yrs old but she dont lie to me!

Yeah it spins like a mofookie at full throttle. Like I said too much torque and not enough tire. It sounds cool when I nail it from a stop but it really isn't doing much for forward momentum:hick: . I timed it with a stop watch. This was the second run and I filimed it. I need to get a budy with a gtech to get a more accurate reading though. I bet if you had a 3.73 Traction-Lok and nothing else your car would be faster than kingcars and near to mine. You have more tire than we do:D . I need to get at least 15" wheels (10 Holes or Turbines) with 225 section tires soon. I'd like to be able to, ya know, launch at full throttle:evilgrin:

Well looks like I'll be getting drag radials sooner than I thought:hick: Any suggestions on a good size for a 10 Hole/Turbine that will minimize wheel slip?

Try to find yourself some nice snowflakes. I run 245/50/16's on my Turbo Coupe. They still spin, but its much better than when i had turbines on it.

Well I guess I'll try to find some snowflakes. Just wondering but aren't 91-93 Mustang Pony wheels the same size (16x7) as snowflakes? I know where there is a set by me cheap.........

Before my car was apart I had a similar setup as you w/245x50r16 out back w/3.55 and the car will spin all day at a stop unless you feather it off the line. These motors are very torquey so the answer going to be in your right foot.

So I've been playing around and I've got some new stuff.

Here is 1/3 throttle to start then firewalling it. :burnout:

Starting on the street to 30 mph.  thing still spins.

Just nudging the throttle on the side street by my house. Starts spinning at about 2,000 rpms with light throttle. I think with a 2,400 stall converter I'd really have slipping problems:hick:
