You're right, it's not that much weight

I thought about the weight issue as well, and then realized,it's not THAT much weight, and it sure pays for itself for the comfort when it's over 105 degrees.we get the wicked heat like you Texans.

I know a guy that raced a Fox Mustang.  He pulled the A/C because of weight.  Once he got the whole system out, it wasn't but 10-15 lbs, or something like that. Once he saw the scale, right back in it went.

:2c: On anything that "steetable", A/C is not an option.

For me,it sometimes gets around 110 degrees and 90% humidity. The a/c goes back on asap.It really sucks when you're driving down the highway, and it's that hot and it starts pouring down rain.Dear god that sucks bad.If the port I drive was just a weekend car, maybe, but I drive it everyday. Now,Pimp may have different goals and ideas for his car,and I respect that totally.

The compressor alone weighs more than 15 pounds.  Not to mention the lines, condensor and much smaller bracket you swap in to mount the power steering pump higher up.

I agree there's some weight to it all, but, with the lighter wheels, lighter exhaust, lighter headers (lighter than the stock manifolds),zero smog equipment,It all works itself out for me.

it was over 100 degrees here for two weeks straight last year. I was sitting in a bucket truck with no a/c and only moving at 5 mph max. It kinda sucked, but us utah'ns don't have to worry about humidity. my wife's neon has working a/c, I didn't us it once last summer...

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

The only bad thing is i do use the heater when it snows here and the defroster and this is my only car otherwise i would drop 50lbs off the car in no time.

Also thanks for any negative feeback in other posts but this only goes to 2 of you on this whole great car site.

I think this last summer hottest day was like 105 and the coldest day was like 5 so as much as i hate it i got to keep it since the car is parked outside.

Also a new Shelby GT500 should weigh as much as a fully loaded fox aerobird so all i need is a power adder right guys?

The GT500 weighs about 4000 pounds with fluids.  My auto GT weighs just under 3600 with the blower.

Subframe connectors welded on for $50 today makes the car drive 100% better and makes me forgot it has 200,000 miles on it.

I got them new for $45 but still well worth it for the $60 MSRP.

I hope soon i can get some of the GT500s in 4 lug for my car soon.

Did those subframe connectors fit as purchased or did you have to lengthen them?

They fit just fine and fit well the Seat braces are to small so buy Chuck W's but we welded the seat braces and the SFC so no bolts and painted the clear zip ties and seat braces and also the whole SFC. So its all painted black and all welded and handles like a newer car with all stock springs and shocks and struts only added thing was the SFC on a 200,000+ mile car.

Next mods for next check Summit Racing igntion box with REV limiter costs i think $160 also MSD coil if i can get a hold of this kid for $20. Also gonna get a little window tint on the front window above the AS1 line. The voltage gauge is sliver now so i gotta change it out for the black gauge. Then i got to order a set of NGK TR6 spark plugs and if i can get a hold of my old machanics i will buy a set of blue professinal products Fuel Rails.

All components add up to around 50 pounds.  Taking that much weight off the front of your car in front of the tires would make a huge difference to someone who road races.  Makes a difference in the launch too at a dragstrip believe it or not....It was a no brainer for me.  Yanked that stuff right out.  Had it for 7 + years and NEVER used it.

Plus, REAL hot rods dont have AC!

At least thats how I make myself feel better when it's 200 degrees outside in the Texas summer. It's actually not bad if you dont get stuck in traffic and drive mostly at night.

Is it a Hot Rod or a Luxary car? Well its not like the world 2nd fastest car does not weigh in at over 5,000+ lbs still goes 253MPH.

Hey do you still play Forza 2? i am gonna try and paint the gas tank cover so let me see if i think i can get a few ok shots of those SFC's for you.
