Back on track!!!

Been making progress on my car. I got a used power steering rack to fix that problem, but im not sure i can put it in myself.
I found my brake line that i was told leaks, it finally poped today. Car backfires in the intake when i stab the gas, and it hesitates like crazy. My shocks still need to be swapped but i dont have big enough tools to do the  fronts, and i cant get the rears to come out!
I still need to replace the whole fuel line set up the patches are ok for now, but thats it.
Drivers door will not lock, and the window wont move because its been filled with water to many times, stupid leaking dew wipes.
Im thinking it might be time to see what i can get for the car, but I really dont want to, but im not sure i can do all the work.

I doubt you would get more than 500 if that for the car...

i bet i could get 650 or more, but then id have to start over. so im just gonna have to just DO what i have to do, and stop thinking i cant do it.

go buy the right tools, and a chiltons manual... nothing is impossible.  don't give up thinking that you can't do it.

Listen bud.... I've gone through this MANY times on my car. You've talked me a few of them. Just go one project at a time and it will pay off in the end

yea tomororw before driving lessons, im doing the power steering. Then heading to pepboys to get some sockets and wenchs for the front shocks

what would cause the "poping" in the intake when i stab the gas anyone have any ideas?

maybe it only happens when you stab it up till 2500 after that you push it down it screams!

One step at a time Daboss, and I firmly believe you can do anything.

When I get overwhelmed (and that happens often when building a house by yourself and preparing to get married at the same time) I find it is generally due to juggling the “to do” list in my head. It often helps to
1) STOP
2) Make a list of all things needed (remove the “TO DO” list from my head and put it on paper.)
3) Prioritize said list
4) Begin at the top of the list and do one thing at a time.

When I complete something cross it off the list
If I find something can’t be completed for need of a tool (as your example) I put “acquire said tool” on the list above that item.
I simply work my way through the list… the list is flexible and can be rearranged at will. But all the items are out of my head and on paper. Leaving my head for what it was intended for, to process problems and think my way through each project (without having to try and remember what the next project was at the same time)

Just what works for me, if you can use it your welcome to it.

A lean running condition will cause intake backfires..  Either a clogged fuel filter or a bad pump.

well i replaced the fuel filter, would a little air leak in the line cause it? if so then im ok, im getting a set of mark lines to replace my rigged mess.
And ill have to try the list cause im often forgetting what needs to be done. Thanks for your help. The one main reason I decided that im not getting rid of it, is because in the end its gonna be one hell of a machine, and ill proudly be able to say, i paid 500 bucks for it not running and look at it now.

Your fuel line is pressurized from the fuel tank to the fuel rail. There's no such thing as an "air leak" - any leaks will reveal themselves as dripping (or spraying) fuel.
