The "Stinkin Lincoln" is being striped!!! Reply #210 – March 21, 2008, 11:09:28 PM I have a line on a fender, but a passenger fender. Idc really, I dont want anything pretty, this car isnt in good enough shape to really care that much. Its just gonna be good enough to pass inspection and look acceptable. I have fixed so much on this car, I cant give up now! I've grown waaay to attached! Those wheels are BBS wheels. And I was told that thunderbird front clip and doors fit my car! I Might be trying that out with my parts turbo coupe.... Quote Selected
The "Stinkin Lincoln" is being striped!!! Reply #211 – March 22, 2008, 06:49:27 AM I think the doors are slightly different.Doesn't the Mark have different body lines upper and lower? Quote Selected
The "Stinkin Lincoln" is being striped!!! Reply #212 – March 22, 2008, 07:27:36 AM I thought the body lines were diff. because of the chrome around the wheels, and the turn signals are longer i think Quote Selected

The "Stinkin Lincoln" is being striped!!! Reply #214 – March 23, 2008, 09:25:06 PM well i peeled all the seam sealer from the trunk area, where the water drains, its rotted all the way across.... So I bought this liquid metal stuff, some rust killer, and silicone. Not the best way to do it, but its what I got to do...I wire brushed in there, sprayed down the rust killer, and started with the liquid metal stuff, Its sorta like pre mixed JB weld. Its working out nicely. Gonna do that and throw some silicone on the inside to make sure I stop the leaks. Not proud of hacking it, but Its all I can afford to do, and it wont be to bad. its sandable and paintable so I can make it look decent. Car had to be moved back into the yard, so I need to get it back in the air and apart, and I have to check my front rotors. I guess I didnt tighten them enough, ones loose. I need to get a manual and get torque specs... Brake lines are about bent and ready to install, but need to get fittings out of distribution block.Looking for a D block on the lincoln site so might get lucky. Quote Selected
The "Stinkin Lincoln" is being striped!!! Reply #215 – March 23, 2008, 10:31:42 PM It really doesn't matter how you fix the rust, as long as you seal it from the air.If you want a good sealing product to stop the rust use zero-rust. it's about $18 a quart. you could do the entire underneath of your car with 1 quart. and its brushable or you can use a small roller. many diff. colors too.if you need some cheap fix tips let me know.I know your not going for show quality, so there are a lot of things you can do to repair your rust and get by with a decent looking car.so where's the pics. lol Quote Selected

The "Stinkin Lincoln" is being striped!!! Reply #217 – March 24, 2008, 12:11:45 AM hood is different on the mark if I recall... I think it hangs over alittle bit. You would prolly have to change out the front clip fenders and doors to make it even pretend work. Quote Selected
The "Stinkin Lincoln" is being striped!!! Reply #218 – March 24, 2008, 02:34:28 PM I looked into it more and was told that swaping the entire front clip, hood included, and it supposedly fits. I wanna see pics.... Quote Selected
The "Stinkin Lincoln" is being striped!!! Reply #219 – March 24, 2008, 04:50:25 PM I still say that the lines of the T-Bird fenders and/or doors won't line up to the Mark VII lines. Quote Selected
The "Stinkin Lincoln" is being striped!!! Reply #220 – March 24, 2008, 06:06:15 PM who knows!Trunk will no longer leak!! 3 tubes of liquid metal, some silicone, and some undercoating and its done!! Looks decent, but at least its not riddled with holespics later. Quote Selected

Pretty bad, thats cleaned up, and rust proofedAnd the finished product after replacing all the seam sealer with liquid metal, applying a thin coat of silicone, and then spraying on some undercoat! Its not the greatest but it will do quite nicely!!
