Speaking of hood scoops...

A couple of people were talking about the Krass & Bernie drawing in my sig - more particularly, they were talking about the hood scoop on it. I thought of that as I was cruising kijiji (kinda like Craigslist) and came across this '85 Bird for sale (btw, the car is for sale locally, it has the FMS body kit, and a V6, he wants $1100). This, I believe, would serve as a good example of how NOT to put a scoop on a T-Bird hood:

I want to shave down the front of the raised part on the hood, and split the remainder into a challenger/cuda shape, but who's got time.

each to his own...I like the old street rod stuff. they'll be plenty of fresh air for it sticking out of the hood. everyone seems to have cowls or those dual hoodscoop 3m tape  around here. my car will stand out.

Not so much the style IMHO, but the fact thats it's not even half assed molded to the hood. It doesn't even match the shape or the contor of the hood what so ever. A blind man would think that looks like ass on there

I was talking about the hood scoop in the pic I posted. I like the old hillborn scoops myself, especially sitting on top of a roots blower (if I'm correct in thinking I even know what a hillborn scoop is...)

...wow. Thats all there is to say. You should buy that car and take the scoop off and save its pride. And you can have a GFX kit!

thats the scoop off of an '85 Capri RS, would look ok if he modified it to sit right.  I am molding my replica TC scoops into my cowl hood right now.
I'll be the first one with a TC scooped cowl :hick:

Ive always wanted a cowl hood with TC scoops. This hood looks good, wish they were for our cars.

If you cut the skin of a TC hood and added metal to the sides to make the center raised, I wonder if that would work. Would it flex or move the brackets for the scoops at all I wonder.

I could have made a cowl out of a TC hood but I didn't want to hack up a perfectly good TC hood for that, when you can make them yourself.
