Speaking of hood scoops... May 09, 2007, 09:08:38 PM A couple of people were talking about the Krass & Bernie drawing in my sig - more particularly, they were talking about the hood scoop on it. I thought of that as I was cruising kijiji (kinda like Craigslist) and came across this '85 Bird for sale (btw, the car is for sale locally, it has the FMS body kit, and a V6, he wants $1100). This, I believe, would serve as a good example of how NOT to put a scoop on a T-Bird hood: Quote Selected

Speaking of hood scoops... Reply #2 – May 09, 2007, 09:49:50 PM I want to shave down the front of the raised part on the hood, and split the remainder into a challenger/cuda shape, but who's got time. Quote Selected

Speaking of hood scoops... Reply #6 – May 09, 2007, 10:19:56 PM Not so much the style IMHO, but the fact thats it's not even half assed molded to the hood. It doesn't even match the shape or the contor of the hood what so ever. A blind man would think that looks like ass on there Quote Selected

Speaking of hood scoops... Reply #9 – May 09, 2007, 11:43:32 PM ...wow. Thats all there is to say. You should buy that car and take the scoop off and save its pride. And you can have a GFX kit! Quote Selected
Speaking of hood scoops... Reply #10 – May 10, 2007, 12:32:26 AM thats the scoop off of an '85 Capri RS, would look ok if he modified it to sit right. I am molding my replica TC scoops into my cowl hood right now.I'll be the first one with a TC scooped cowl :hick: Quote Selected

Speaking of hood scoops... Reply #12 – May 11, 2007, 12:36:41 AM Ive always wanted a cowl hood with TC scoops. This hood looks good, wish they were for our cars. Quote Selected
Speaking of hood scoops... Reply #13 – May 11, 2007, 12:38:43 AM If you cut the skin of a TC hood and added metal to the sides to make the center raised, I wonder if that would work. Would it flex or move the brackets for the scoops at all I wonder. Quote Selected
Speaking of hood scoops... Reply #14 – May 11, 2007, 01:31:21 AM I could have made a cowl out of a TC hood but I didn't want to hack up a perfectly good TC hood for that, when you can make them yourself. Quote Selected
