Nitrous ?'s

I have researched nitrous and the likes.  Only kits im seeing are "punch throttle and hold on".  Is there a way to flip a switch on and instantly have 100+ all the time on a computer controller regulator.  So you could sit at a light and nos could be running but at like say .05% (enough not to even notice) when i gas 1/4 the percentage goes up enough to keep from blowing engine up. it would have to incorporate with the TPS sensor im sure.  has this ever been done?  I have looked at edelbrock's nitrous progressive programmer but i want something better.  if i could come up with a pickup from the tps sensor and hook it into a comptuer? for readings of how much the pedal is down and how fast its being pushed and such...

Not that I have ever heard of.
And I would think that would be a waste as a bottle of nitrous has a limited amount of boost in it (am I saying that right?) Like a 10lb bottle is only good for 1-2 min worth of boost.. why would you want to use any of that limited amount up sitting at a stop sign?

You might look into the ZEX system. Not toosure how they work but they are computer controlled.

Well I have 2 100lb co2 tanks im getting fitted with n2o valves which will be plenty of juice.  I think Im going to have to use a custom ecu tuning software, any ideas?

You can NOT be serious.Please don't take this offensively,but how old are you?Nitrous running all the time?Two one hundred pound bottles?It just really makes one think.Again,no offense implied or intended.I have just never heard of such a thing.I don't think outside the box like that I suppose.

HAHAHAH 2 100lb bottles of juice.. the local speed shop is going to love you. It was almost $4.00/lb years ago I could imagine how much it is now. You going to slap $800 down and say fill her up.. HAHAHAHAH. Save your money and buy a supercharger, I wish I did that years ago rather than spending close to $1000 on nitrous kit and accessories.. it adds up fast.

nitrous has always seemed stupid to me. it seems so fake. your engine isnt really more powerful. definitely do some stuff thats permanent! youll have so much more bragging rights. build up a nasty-ass rig that runs like hell no matter what the environment.

I think nitrous is cool but I think this is extreem. And as thunder pointed out at LEAST $4.00 a pound.
It cost about $50. to fill a ten pound bottle here 10 years ago... and that would supply my 315 TR7 with 1.5 min worth of boost.

yeah most zex kits are controlled by the tps sensor.

Yeah, i got an idea,,, shoot yourself in the feet so you cant drive for a while.  wild hair ideas like that make me wonder how many real idiots are driving today. 


and what class CDL do you plan on having,,, and what hazmat indorsp00get regulations would you have to certify with?

Okay CDL license?  Don't know who you think I am but this is not a street legal vehicle.  I don't plan using it by means you (whoever disagrees with me) are talking about.  I will meet regulations to which ever race I wan't. By the way if you buy 200lbs of nitrous in bulk its a lot cheaper.  WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD PUT 200lbs of nitrous in a vehicle on street.  IF one bump jsut right, your toast.

I'm sorry, but 200 LBS of NOS, thats just retarted. I think your pushing th elimit with a 50LB bottle. What exactly do you plan to race?

Nitrous kits are only available in the "punch throttle and hold on" variety because that's the only way you can run it. If you use it at less than WOT, you risk increasing cylinder pressures to the point of kablooey.

Hence, most have switches that activate when the engine is at full throttle, or solenoids that serve the same purpose.

Dont mean do stir up trouble or be a dick but the statement below led me(and possibly others) to believe you were driving on the streets.
