New item every week, #5 is more 83-86 trim Reply #6 – April 13, 2007, 05:09:52 PM OK, Here we go!First, use a new #11 X-acto knife to remove the old chrome (this piece took me about 2 minutes). Then sand the area smooth. The nicer you do this, the better it turns out. Then CLEAN. Use a nice degreaser, followed by some rubbing alcohol on a rag to promote adhesion. Quote Selected
New item every week, #5 is more 83-86 trim Reply #7 – April 13, 2007, 05:14:43 PM Then lay out your piece, make it extra long and trim to fit.Push it down real well, going back and forth. This is a LOT easier with the trim on the car. Use a heat gun/blowdrier at LOW setting or a hot day for maximum wrinkle-free ness.Trim the edges with the X-Acto. Quote Selected
New item every week, #5 is more 83-86 trim Reply #8 – April 13, 2007, 05:21:34 PM Polish trim piece with Mother's Back-to-Black and call it done. This whole process and this extremely py trim piece in a cold garage took me 10 minutes start to finish. Doing it on an entire car on a warm day will be about 2 hours and would look amazing. So there you go, ABM's new product of the week! Also, I've decided to UP the quantity to 50' per set, SAME PRICE! :D Quote Selected
