help Reply #17 – March 29, 2007, 11:28:20 PM Quote from: Chuck W;137216*BUZZ*!!!!!!Try again.86-88 Tbird/Cougar 7.5's will not work with the Mustang axles....You can swap the entire rear axle assy from the SN-95 Mustang if you like and have the same width axle to axle , but the axles will not swap into the wider 87 7.5 housing. That is news to me. Bearing areas don't match up? Quote Selected
help Reply #19 – March 29, 2007, 11:35:08 PM Quote from: JeremyB;137219That is news to me. Bearing areas don't match up?IIRC that's one of the issues covered in the threads that touched on this whole issue. The 3/4" may not be an problem, but most likely it is. The 86-88 Tbird 7.5 housing are wider....and thus the bearings are in a different spot than the others.willywags....there is a search feature on this board.....it works.... Quote Selected
help Reply #20 – March 29, 2007, 11:37:12 PM I thought that the axle housing of the sn95 was the same width as the 86-88. Infact i slid my sn95 axles into my old 88 housing and they seem to fit fine...ERER I ARE CORNFUSED.. Quote Selected
