drums to disk on a 85 bird Reply #1 – February 17, 2007, 06:57:46 PM Quick and sorta easy answer is..... Get a 87-88 T/c rear. It has both trac-loc and better gears on top of being an 8.8" and having disk brakes Quote Selected

drums to disk on a 85 bird Reply #3 – February 18, 2007, 12:39:15 AM Welcome to the board! Might as well go for the 5 lug too! I did the swap on my 84 bird using machined front rotors and a lincoln mark vii rear end. The lincoln rear is alot easier to find. Just don't plan on using the e-brake with it. For the front rotors I bought them from Complete Brake Services. Excellent quality and it came with everything i needed right down to the wheel bearings and dust cap. However you'll need a new cotter pin. Also you should post up some pics of your ride!Anyway, here's the info you want. http://www.coolcats.net/tech/Just about anything you can think of is in there.
