started cleaning up the engine bay Reply #169 – September 08, 2007, 04:09:27 PM That swap is gonna be awesome when its done. People are gonna think you swapped in a boss 429 at first glance because of the carbed intake and giant valve covers. Quote Selected

started cleaning up the engine bay Reply #172 – September 11, 2007, 11:50:22 PM after 3.5hrs, i finally got the 4r70w in! i had to pull it back out, due to the converter not being engaged all the way. in the process it slipped off the jack. luckily my hand broke its fall. (would want to hurt my fresh trans) i am going to need to move my crossmember back about an inch now. it rubs the pan, and the the mount wont line up with the slots. its at the height it needs to be though. the oilpan now clears the rack by about 1/16"! i may switch to manual rack for extra clearance, since im using stock motor mounts. ill mess with the trans x-member once i get my bottle filled for my welder. started cleaning up the engine bay Reply #173 – September 25, 2007, 01:31:41 PM well, i decided to move the motor up into the front holes on the k-member. having the motor against the firewall wasnt worth the trouble of modifying everything to make it work. now everything clears and bolts up fine so far.1st pic is when the motor was in the front slots of the k-member. 2nd pic is with it in the rear slots. i gained around 1.5" of clearance moving the motor. started cleaning up the engine bay Reply #174 – September 25, 2007, 02:14:01 PM You say you're using "stock" mounts. Once I can get them done, I am working on 4.6 mounts...EDIT-Oh wait. Derrr. You're using the Mustang mounts. Never mind. Quote Selected
