Since I have a flat tappet can, can I use E7's, which are roller rockers. If I do, can I just use the Ho cam insted of the flat tappet? This may make no sence, so please try to help me out here.

You can use E7's with a flat tappet cam.  You can't use a roller cam in your block.

At least not a STOCK roller cam.....You can use a retrofit, but they are usually a bit pricey.

I think the only 5.0's that came with roller rockers were the '93 Cobras. But you can get pedestal mount RR's for those E7 heads, they bolt right on. That's what I have for my p heads.

93 Cobras came with 1.7 roller rockers on GT-40 heads.

unless you have a pre '80 block its drilled and tapped for a roller cam or it at least has the bosses for them, a retrofit kit is only the spider and seperators. what did your engine come out of?

From what I was told, I only put it in, is an 83 LTD and the CFI came from an "Ho CFI stang". I didn't pull the motor, so I can't help. THe only thing I can do is give the date cond on the intake, which I will have to go look.

you said that motor was an LTD transplant.  did you find out something new ?  HO stang CFI????

yes, e7 casting numbers will fit on you engine,,no problem, no mods,,plug and play.  Complement it with that 4bbl intake you mentioned and top it off with a carb if you wanna.

you should really do a compression test before and after, just to see the difference.  You might find that since you have the upper half off, its soooooo easy to c00ch the block (making it sound easy here) and toss in a re-ring kit while your at it.

Steve ( reputiable freind) said he took the CFI of his 84 Stang HO CFI and put it on the Fila. Probaly BS but only part #'s can tell. and if I have the heads off, I might as well put the 4 barrel on it too
