I would much rather change my heater core again over changing the motor mounts on a 5.0. Hell, I would consider changing the core over messing with the high-profile door panels. :DIt's not that hard to do. Quote Selected
Steaming vents Reply #16 – January 22, 2007, 03:04:58 PM I personally can't wait to have to change mine. I enjoy taking things apart and it is something that I can do too.Though I love my Rangers location oh so good! Quote Selected

This created a door to which she was able to slide the core out.I have looked at this method a couple times and as she said,, its possible but a tight fit for your hands and to manage the core out / back in. She also mentioned that she used duct tape to close the door back. Its possible though. Quote Selected
Steaming vents Reply #18 – January 23, 2007, 12:43:05 AM Meh. If you're thorough with where all the screws & bolts go, it's not a bad job to do. I'd rather do another heater core than lift an 8.8" rear into place by myself. That's for sure.People ALWAYS make a huge big deal about the heater core and it's not the worst job in the world. I can't imagine paying ANYONE to do this job for me. I've done it 3x and I won't hesitate to do it again. Quote Selected

Steaming vents Reply #20 – January 30, 2007, 01:48:35 PM Sorry guy's, but It's not a funny job, In 2005 I changed My entire heater body (same as core) and hated this a lot, It's probably cauz I have in the past a cars have a heater core less difficult to change, My 1974 Mercuty Marquis was simple a lot, two hoses and 4 or 6 screws and that's all...When My mothe have his car (My 85 bird) the garage wanted 450$ for the job, and 42$ for the core????????????????? what the joke, it's not a main seal between trans and engine, but I guess the main seal is easy to fix, and fast than the core on that Birds/cougs.It's probably cauz too for a stupid thing of that on the fox, are difficult to fix it for nothing, anyway, I hate to do it, that's all!!..I hate the stupid things misplaced, and do entire dash removal for a 40$ core...Best regards,Dom, Quote Selected
